As Emily was walking around the building during her lunch break, lost in her thoughts, she suddenly bumped into a man who was walking in the opposite direction. She looked up to apologize and found herself staring into the most mesmerizing green eyes she had ever seen.
The man was tall and handsome, with short dark hair and a chiselled jawline. He introduced himself as Liam and apologized for not looking where he was going. Emily felt a flutter in her stomach as she smiled and accepted his apology.
Liam was captivated by Emily's beauty and asked if she would like to sit with him for lunch in the cafeteria. Emily was hesitant at first, but she accepted his invitation.
As they sat down, Liam introduced Emily to his friends, Jeremy, Stephanie, Hazel and Tiffany. Jeremy and Stephanie were the couple in the group and they have been together for more than two years. They were a fun-loving group, and Emily found herself laughing and joking with them as if she had known them for years.
Over lunch, they talked about their lives and shared stories about their experiences. Emily found herself opening up to them, something she didn't usually do with strangers. She felt comfortable around them, and they made her feel like she belonged.
as they finished their lunch Liam offered to to walk her back to her office, Emily was hesitant to accept the offer but did not want to be rude so she accepted, as they came out of the elevator Alexander was just coming from her office he had being so worried cause he had not seen her for the past hour and he also did not have her contact so when he saw Emily laughing with he Liam he just couldn't take it and when into his office angrily '
Emily stood in front of Alexander's desk, her bag slung over her shoulder. "Excuse me, sir," she said tentatively. "I was wondering if I could leave now. It's getting late and I have some personal work to attend to."
Alexander looked up from his computer screen, his expression unreadable. "No, Emily," he said firmly. "I need you to stay back and sort out these files for me."
Emily felt a wave of disappointment wash over her. She had been looking forward to leaving the office early today and taking care of some personal errands. "But sir," she protested. "I have already worked overtime this week. Can't this wait until tomorrow?"
Alexander's face hardened. "No, it can't," he said. "These files are important and I need them sorted out tonight. You are my assistant, and it is your job to do what I ask of you."
Emily sighed inwardly. She knew that arguing with Alexander was pointless. He was a stubborn man who always got his way. "Okay, sir," she said resignedly. "I'll stay back and sort out the files."
Alexander nodded, satisfied. "Good. I'll send them to you now. Make sure you separate the signed ones from the unsigned ones. And don't leave until you're done."
Emily sat down at her desk and opened the folder that Alexander had sent her. There were dozens of files in it, all jumbled up together. She knew that this was going to take a while.
As she worked, Emily couldn't help but think about how unfair it was that Alexander had made her stay back. She had already put in so many hours this week, and yet he still demanded more from her. She felt exhausted and drained, but she tried to keep her focus on the task at hand.
Several hours passed, and Emily was still sorting through the files. She had managed to separate most of the signed ones from the unsigned ones, but there were still a few that she wasn't sure about. She decided to take a break and go to the restroom.
As she washed her hands, Emily caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. She looked tired and worn out, with dark circles under her eyes. She wondered how much longer she could keep this up.
When she returned to her desk, Alexander was standing there, looking at his watch. "What took you so long?" he demanded.
"I just had to use the restroom, sir," Emily replied. "I'm almost done with the files. Just a few more left."
Alexander nodded impatiently. "Well, hurry up. I need to leave soon."
Emily felt a surge of frustration. How could he be so insensitive to her needs? She was a human being, not a machine. She couldn't work non-stop without any breaks or rest.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Emily finished sorting the files. She stood up and stretched, feeling stiff and sore. "Sir, I'm done with the files," she said wearily.
Alexander looked up from his computer, his expression unreadable. "Good," he said. "You may leave now."
Emily felt a sense of relief wash over her. She grabbed her bag and headed for the door. "Thank you, sir," she said as she left.
As she walked to her car, Emily couldn't help but feel angry and resentful. She had been treated unfairly by Alexander, and she didn't know how much longer she could put up with it. She decided that she needed to have a talk with him and set some boundaries.
when Emily finally got home she was so tired but was thankful that it was the weekend and she could rest.
