Chapter 13

"Good morning, darling…" I turned to the gentle voice and saw Jordan approaching me. He hugged me and kissed my forehead. I thought he would kiss me on the lips too, but he didn’t. I took a deep breath to calm myself. Until now, my heart remains happy because of our date last night. Everything we did was a first for me, and my favorite part was the fireworks. My face suddenly heated up as I recalled our passionate kiss. It was so intoxicating and truly made my body tremble. Lying in bed, that moment was all I could think about. I really enjoyed myself and felt comfortable being with him. I even liked his teasing, which always left a blush on my face. I thought he would take me to an expensive place, but I was relieved that he didn’t because I would have felt awkward the entire time. "Go-good morning, Jordan…" I greeted him back. He smiled sweetly and gently caressed my cheek. He just stared at me as if he wanted to say something. He leaned in closer, rubbing the tip of his nose against mine. "Uhm, I smell like food," I said shyly. He chuckled softly, then kissed my cheek and sniffed my neck, sending tingles and excitement through me. "A delicious dish. I could eat you all day, darling," he said playfully, squeezing my side. "Jo-Jordan… what if… your brothers see us?" I scolded him, but I didn’t stop him either. He licked my neck, making me shiver, and I almost let out a moan. "Wow… Early in the morning, and you’re already making us jealous, Jordan." I froze and turned around, seeing Jagger dressed in his business suit, one eyebrow raised as he looked at us. He let out a deep sigh, while Jordan gave my neck one last kiss before sitting down at the table. "Don't spoil my fun, she’s mine for a week," Jordan replied. "We had fun last night, didn't we, Poppy?" My face burned with embarrassment, and I stayed silent. "Hmmm, it doesn’t seem like it!" Jagger teased, making me smile. "Darling, don't embarrass me here," Jordan pleaded. I licked my lips, turned back to them, and handed them their coffee. "I enjoyed it. Everything we did on our date was a first for me," I answered. "I thought I was your first?" Jagger joked. I slapped his arm, and he laughed. Jordan pulled me onto his lap, surprising me. Just then, Janus and Jozer walked in, catching us in that position, making my face heat up even more. "I knew this would happen. Damn it, look at that big smile on your face!" Janus said irritably before sitting down, followed by Jozer. "Of course! Our first date was a success. Just tell me if there’s anywhere else you want to go or anything you want to do, Poppy. I’ll give you everything," Jordan said sincerely, making me smile shyly. It felt awkward with all four of them staring at me. "Please, you don’t have to do that for me, but… can I eat at the table instead? Sitting here feels awkward, Jordan," I said. His expression softened, and he nodded. I quickly stood up and took an empty seat. "You guys are really close now. Did something happen on your first date?" Jozer asked. I nodded excitedly. "A lot happened, but my favorite part was the fireworks. We don’t have those in my hometown. We have fiestas, but they’re mostly about food and dancing. And the cinema was amazing, though a bit cold," I said. The three of them turned to Jordan, which made me curious. "Really? The cinema, of all places?" Jagger asked incredulously. "Why there?" "What’s wrong with that, Jagger? It was my first time, and the movie was good. It was horror one, but not really scary," I said. "I’m glad he took me there; I wouldn’t have felt comfortable in a fancy place." "A horror movie that isn’t scary?" Jozer said curiously. "I bet it had a lot of bed scenes." He teased, making me freeze. I looked down, knowing my face was probably as red as a tomato. "I guessed it right!" "Leave her alone. I didn’t know there would be so many bed scenes either. I just wanted her to get scared and cling to me," Jordan teased, making the three of them laugh. "It was her first movie and first fireworks with me. I’m happy and satisfied with that. But darling," he took my hand, "there’s so much more we’ll do together, so just hold on tight." He kissed my hand, making me smile before we all started eating. As always, I saw them off at the door. Jordan was the last to leave, and he turned to me with a smile before pulling me into a hug. I closed my eyes for a moment, taking in his intoxicating scent. "Let’s have another date when I get back. I really had a great time last night. I hope you did too," he said. "Jordan, I’ve already told you so many times—I enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to our date later. Don’t overwork yourself, okay?" I said sweetly. He smiled warmly. "That’s so good to hear. Now I won’t be bothered at work. Don’t overwork yourself either, and always be careful, especially since you’re alone here. There’s a guard at the front, but still, I want to make sure you’re safe. You’re important to us." "I always make sure everything is locked. I’ll be fine and won’t get bored. There’s so much I can do in this huge house of yours." "Don’t swim in the pool without me, okay? I want to see you swim again, darling." I froze, confused by what he meant. "Again? What do you mean ‘again’?" I asked. He gently cupped my face and leaned in. "I saw you in the pool, and you looked like a water goddess. If only you knew how hard it was for me to resist coming to you. And it seemed Janus felt the same since he got there before I could. Jagger even refused to show us the pictures he took of you. Such a selfish guy." "Don’t bother looking at my pictures. I’m right in front of you, isn’t that better?" He hugged me again. "I wish I could be with you every day, darling. You’re the only one who makes me feel this contentment." "Really?" I giggled, resting my cheek against his chest and snuggling closer. It felt so comforting to be this close to him. I felt contented too, just like him. "Of course. You’re very special, and you affect all four of us in a way no one else does. I hope you’ll stay with us," he said. I shook my head and pulled away slightly. "I can’t promise that, Jordan. I’ve already told my mama about this, and she warned me not to get involved with you guys. But what choice do I have? You’ll fire me if I don’t do what you want," I said. His face turned guilty, and he held my hand tightly. "I’m sorry. That was the only way I could think of to make you give us a chance. Just don’t think about our status in life. We’re all just people, Poppy, and that’s fair enough. You’re the girl for us, and whatever decision you make after all this, we will respect it." I squeezed his hand and nodded. "I'll get going. Call me if you have any problems," he said. "Yes, Sir Jordan…" I replied playfully. He smirked and kissed my cheek. "I’ll let you call me 'Sir' if you’re beneath me, writing in pleasure, darling," he whispered. My face burned again. He said goodbye and left. As soon as his car drove away, I locked the door behind me. I wanted to slide to the floor in embarrassment. I knew it—I’m going to give in too easily. Taking a deep breath, I started cleaning. Just as I was fixing the cushions, the landline rang. I rushed to answer it, thinking it might be Jordan. "Hello, Mavkos Residence," I answered sweetly. "WHO ARE YOU???!!!"
