I counted 27 days since the last time D'yavol came into my room, he had the other wolf bring in my food and take me for showers. I was given clothes belonging to a female and his things were taken....all but his hoodie. I missed Henry, his cute little nose and the way he purred when I scratched his shoulders. I missed the rest of the quints, I had never gone this long without making some kind of contact with them, but it was like our connection was somehow blocked. I longed to talk to Blake about whatever the hell I wanted to. Esarie was a pain most of the time, but I missed her too.
I might sound bad but I didn't miss my parents. I could practically hear them whining and whimpering about how much they missed me, and then within a week it would be right back to blaming Riley for everything that went wrong.
The only person I had to keep me company was Hazard, and it was difficult seeing as we needed to get out and run. I looked at the door as it opened, Vyctor, as i learned his name was, walked in with another bowl of stew. Once I was done eating he took me to the shower room, this time I put D'yavol's hoodie in the pile of dirty clothes hoping I could make him come back to me. Hazard whimpered as we instantly began to feel cold.
I sat in the room and began to shiver and shake as I felt the coldness return. My nose began to leak and my phalanges became numb. I pulled my knees to my chest, the cold seeped into my bones much faster than normal, at least how I remembered it to be. My heart began to slow as did my breathing. I was too cold to go to the bed as I curled in on myself.
Hazard whimpered as our vision began to fade, there was no warmth. He wasn't coming, he didn't care anymore. It was too cold to hold on, my eyes rolled back and my body stopped shaking.
.....D'yavol.....
I rolled my eyes again as Pozhar began whimpering in my mind. He had been constantly begging to go to her since the last time I left. He wanted her, I hated to admit it, but I did too. She however would run once she found out what I was, what I had done in my 27 years of life. I growled and rubbed my temples as Pozhar began barking while he whimpered.
I gave in and walked across the building to her room, my heart stopped as I walked in. She was curled into a ball near the window, she wasn't moving. I could hardly hear her heart or her lungs as she breathed. Pozhar snarled at me as I reached down and pulled her shirt up a little placing my skin on hers.
Her body was a block of ice, a small whimper escaped my lips as I used the fire in my veins to warm her up. It took longer then usual for her heart to finally begin to beat in a steady rhythm. Vyctor told me she had been getting more and more distant, always looking out the window, hardly eating the food she was given.
"Time to wake." I said aloud hoping she would respond.
(She needs to run, her wolf is weakening.) Pozhar said into my mind. I sighed as I picked her warming body up and carried her outside into a more secluded section of woods. I took off her clothes, before taking off mine. I shifted into my wolf shape and growled lightly. Her electric blue eyes finally opened, she looked around for a minute her gaze settling on me, a small smirk on her lips.
"You came." Her voice was light, Pozhar snarled at me for making her doubt us. She moved her eyes down to her body before she sat up. She reached for the clothes near her and I snarled, her eyes moved back to me before she stood, showing off her perfect body that always had my control wavering.
She shifted into her wolf shape and stretched, Pozhar begged for me to let him mark her. Ignoring him I shook before leading her off at a walk. She followed without hesitation which had my wolf yipping like a damn pup. She was faster than I expected her to be, keeping up with me. When we stopped I finally got a look at her wolf in the sunlight.
Her fur was a light grey, almost blue color. Her eyes were a familiar color I couldn't place, she was large for a she-wolf, which Pozhar praised. I could feel power rippling off of her which wasn't something new. I could tell she was an alpha's pup, not just any Alpha either. Her father was Alpha Thomas Maverick, I would know the green eyes of a lycan anywhere, and her family had four wolves with green eyes.
I looked at her clothes and she seemed to understand, I shifted back and pulled my own clothes on before looking back at her, she was almost fully dress, her torso was bare and covered in goosebumps as she shivered. I reached out and took her arm in my hand, the little bumps went away as I warmed her body, her n*****s however were still hard and the delectable scent of her arousal filled the air.
Behaving when she smelled so delicious was hard, so I let go of her arm as she pulled her shirt on. "You should have kept the sweater." I told her once she was dressed, she narrowed her eyes at me and huffed before looking at the building.
"It hardly smelt like you anymore." Her tone was sharp as she began walking toward the house. I followed her like a dog. "You can go back to ignoring me, just send Vyctor with a new one. Unless you have decided it's time I die." My anger spiked as Pozhar whimpered at the cold bite in her voice. I grabbed her arm and dragged her to my room closing the door and pinning her to the wall by her throat.
"Watch your tone Riley." I growled at her, she turned her glare to mine.
"Why? Don't like being challenged?" She asked with a sneer. Her breath tickled my face after she sighed, her face lost all traces of anger, tired. She looked tired, her eyes met mine and I wanted to back away at the sadness I saw in them. "Fine, just go back to pretending I'm not here." I stumbled back when she lightly pushed on my chest. She slipped out of the door and her feet moved away.
(Mate....go get her.) I sighed and did as my wolf said, walking out after her. She was back in her room sitting at the window. She was shaking as I walked in, I rolled my eyes and made a fire behind her. She already knew about the fire I possessed so I saw no reason to hide it from her. "You should know better than to walk away from me." I told her with a growl, though I didn't hide the fire I could still hide how badly I wanted her.
"All my life I've watched my parents....they're mates.....and I longed for the bond they shared. I watched my siblings find and fall in love with their mates. I've only ever wanted two things in my life, for my parents to stop treating me like a temperamental child and to find my mate. Guess I should have been more specific huh? I found my mate.....but you dont care." She didn't look at me when she spoke, her eyes were stuck on the outside world.
"If I didn't care I would have let you die." The words came pouring out of my mouth as I got closer to her, squatting my her side brushing her dark her behind her ear. "If I didn't care I wouldn't have let you run with your wolf. If I didn't care....." The words coming out of my mouth were soft as I used my finger to touch the nape of her neck. "...it wouldn't be this hard not to claim you whenever I see you." Her eyes finally turned to me, they were full of anger.
"And yet you still haven't." She huffed and turned back away holding her knees to her chest. "Wait I forgot, what was it you said?" She laughed darkly. "I want to watch the hope of me ever loving you, bleed from your eyes. I never wanted a fated mate, and I never will." Her voice deepened and she did a perfect Russian accent as she used my own words against me.
"I did say that." I told her without missing a beat. "I never wanted a fated mate because I know when you find out what I am, and what I've done you will decide you'll never want to see my face again." She blinked and shook her head.
"That's your excuse." I was taken aback by her tone. "Did you think for a moment that I would still accept you?" She sounded offended as she spoke, her eyes were filled with hurt and anger. "No you automatically assumed the worst, just like everyone else." Thunder boomed outside and lightning flashed, it was strange, there hadn't been a storm on the weather forecast today. I turned my attention back to Riley who was breathing heavily and pulling at her hair.
"Riley..." She glared at me and shook her head.
"Don't talk to me.....you're just like everyone else." She turned her eyes away, there were tears in them. Pozhar whimpered at our mates pain.
"I'm a hell hound Riley.....my father was an Alpha werewolf and my mother is Lillith, the daughter and favorite of Lucifer's children." Her eyes stayed off of mine and I sighed. "I was raised by demons, I didn't grow up with the love of a family. I was raised to hate, kill, spare no one. I am not supposed to be blessed with a mate." Her eyes finally turned to me, it was like she was looking under my skin. She didn't speak as she looked down at my hand and took it in her own.
I let her play with my fingers for a while before she sighed and turned back to the window, the sudden storm seemed to have calmed down, but the rain was still falling and smaller strikes of lightning flashed in the sky. "I don't care." She sighed after she spoke before looking back to me. "You could be the devil himself, and I still wouldn't care. You are mine D'yavol."
"I've killed people Riley, innocent people, people like you." She chuckled and played with my fingers some more.
"My parents have killed people too, there is no such thing as an innocent person over the age of 10." She said running her finger over the tattoo on my left wrist. "I accept you D'yavol, your past, your heritage and everything you have ever done. It's up to you now, either you accept me or leave me here to die."
"I accept you Riley, as my mate and my better half." She smiled and flung herself into my body sending us tumbling backwards. "Ow." A cute giggle sounded from her lips as she clung to me.
"I have a confession to make." She said sitting up on my stomach as she straddled me. I raised an eyebrow at her as my hands grabbed her thighs and my thumbs ran circles on her clothes.
"And what would that be?"
"I peeked after we shifted back from wolf form and got a nice look at your ass." A laugh tore itself from my lips as she looked down at me.
"I've already seen you naked, so I guess it comes as no surprise I saw your hard n*****s again today." She shrugged and slid off my stomach. I sat up wondering why she moved when I heard feet outside.
Vyctor and a few other rogues came into the room, only Vyctor was in his human form as the others snarled. "You let this one make you soft boss." Vyctor hissed. Riley snarled from beside me as we both stood. The window broke as more wolves crashed through it, all blood rogues under my command.
"Stand down."
