"I AM AN ALPHA!" Alpha Parker roared, I sighed and looked at my nails, still not giving a damn. That was until the dumb ass decided it was smart to grab me. He spun my chair around and grabbed my neck. I narrowed my eyes and placed my hands on his pecks pushing him backwards, thunder boomed from outside as I used my power. I felt myself shock him and he flew back smashing into the wall. His chest was smoking as he looked down at himself in shock.
"Don't you ever put your filthy paws on me again." I said easily before I reclaimed my seat. Blake was on my right, he reached over and turned me to face him while he examined my throat.
(B: Are you okay little sis?) He whimpered into the link, I rolled my eyes and took my face away.
(R: Nothing I can't handle B.) I heard Alpha Parker get up with a groan before he practically fell into his chair.
"Does anyone else have any questions?" My Uncle Lenny asked from down the table. Silence filled the room as no other wolf dared question me or my siblings.
"Then we shall resume." The elder wolf said. After another 15 minutes of boring pack talk, I heard the sound of heavy feet in the hall. I focused my hearing and I counted at least 6 people, I sat back in my seat my hands resting on the arm rests. I waited patiently as they all walked into the room, all of them were built like walls.
They all stopped and looked around, the tallest man's eyes fell on me, I easily rolled mine and ignored them as they walked around the table, resting at the back of the room. We continued with our meeting, Alpha Parker sitting in silence, looking at the table angrily as we went around. My parents finally came back into the room, I stood giving my mother my seat while I stood by my father's side.
"Now we will go over alliances." The elder wolf said.
"I will no longer ally my pack with Jade sky." Alpha Parker said finally lifting his head. "It seems Luna Maya and Alpha Thomas can't even control their own children." I narrowed my eyes at him as my mother spun around in her chair.
"What did you do Riley?" She asked with a growl, I sneered at her and narrowed my eyes before speaking.
"Really? Is that the question you are going to ask?" Her face hardened as I openly challenged her. "You're not even going to bother asking what happened, just going to place all the blame on Riley." I huffed and shook my head. "This is exactly what happened last time!" I pointed to my scar before leaving the room, by the time I was out all hair was on end, I was too angry and going to lose control if I had stayed.
I shifted into Hazard as I left the building and I ran for miles until appearing at the lake. I shifted and screamed in anger. The largest lightning bolt I had ever seen struck an island in the middle of the lake leaving a creator sized hole in the earth. Thunder boomed as smaller charges of lightning struck the ground around my naked form. Each leaving a scorch mark on the damp soil.
......Blake.....
I watched Riley leave the room, she was exceptionally pissed. My dad sighed and rubbed his face while my mom pouted. "What happened Blake?" My dad asked.
I sighed before I spoke. "Alpha Parker challenged Riley, asking why she spoke instead of myself or Esarie. When she retorted in her fashion Alpha Parker was rightfully pissed, but he went too far and tried to choke her. Riley pushed him away and burnt his chest while doing so." My dad snarled and turned his face to Alpha Parker who shied away.
"You put your filthy paws on my daughter?!" Everyone bowed their head, save for my mom who tensed. We all turned to the window as a huge bolt of lightning struck the center of Lake Baikal.
"s**t, Riley is pissed." Esarie whispered as Thunder roared in the sky.
"I hope you plan on apologizing." All faces turned to my Uncle Leonard, his gaze was on my mother. "Why is it you always assume the worst from your own daughter sis?"
"You know she has a temper problem." Mom said with a defeated sigh.
"I do know that." Lenny agreed. "I also know she was raised to know right from wrong. Attacking an Alpha at a meeting of this much importance isn't something she would do." My mother sighed again, this time she looked at my dad.
"How long do you think it will be this time?" She asked while rubbing her temples.
"Don't expect her to talk to you for a while mom." Esarie said looking out the window as lightning still struck the ground. Rain began falling pelting the windows as thunder still rumbled, shaking the building we were in.
"What happened to Riley?" The rest of the quints came into the room all looking worried, it was Pax who spoke. "She blocked herself off." My dad massaged his temples with a groan.
Small growls filled the room and I looked at the warriors in the back, five of them had black eyes. I looked at my younger siblings who's eyes were the same. "Mate." The word shook the room as all nine wolves said it at the same time. Only one warrior was left, but he wasn't made for the one quint who was missing. This was going to make her even more irratable.
"Quints." I said, they all looked at me with small glares. "Don't flaunt your mates in front of Riley." Paxton tilted his head and looked at the lone warrior.
"I have a pregnant mate at home." He said leaning back against the wall. The quints nodded and gave small growls before going to their mates, Hadley had two. A male and female, everyone else had only one. "I'm gonna go talk to Riley." My dad said with a sigh.
"No." I said shaking my head. "Pax, she is going to be pissed at all three of us for not standing up for her. She gets along best with Pax and myself."
"But I just found my mate!" Paxton growled.
"Look at the weather Pax." We all turned back to the window which was hard to see out of considering how much rain was falling, thunder still boomed as lighting flashed every couple of seconds.
"Oh s**t it's bad." All the quints said at once. "What happened?" Talia asked, being the sweetest of them. Our mother whimpered lightly and looked at the table, our dad being the attentive mate he was stood behind her and placed his arms around her shoulders.
"It doesn't matter what happened, but someone needs to...."
"On it." Pax sighed, he walked from the room, as he did the temperature dropped a few degrees.
"Why don't you go get ready for the ball? Your mates should stay here until the meeting is over." My father said to the rest of my siblings who nodded and rolled their eyes before leaving their mates.
.....Riley......
I was sitting down on the ground when the air around me began to chill. I growled while turning toward my brother.
"Leave me alone." I snarled at him, his eyes rolled and I snarled again. A bolt of lightning landed a few feet away from him, he jumped back with a yelp as his eyes widened in shock.
"What the hell Riley?!" I rolled my eyes and turned back around.
"I told you to leave me alone, maybe now you will."
"Nope." I rolled my eyes as he stepped closer. "Tell me what happened."
"Nonya damn business." I told him without turning around.
"You're causing one hell of a storm."
"Don't really care." My eyes seemed to roll on their own account.
"I have only seen you this pissed one other time. Does it have to do with Esarie?" I laughed as cold as his power. "No, then it must have been mom, ya know she looked really upset in there."
"Oh boohoo! Must be terrible having a kid who will call you on your own bullshit!" I snarled whipping around to face him. Thunder pounded around us as another huge flash of lighting blew a tree to splinters a few hundred yards away.
"f**k! Riley!" I shivered as I looked at Paxton, a piece of the destroyed tree had impaled his shoulder. I whimpered as I ran over to my brother and pulled the wood from his shoulder as I began to cry.
"I'm sorry Pax." I felt him sigh as I hugged him.
"It's alright Ry. Let's get back to the hotel okay?" I nodded and shifted so I wasn't butt naked. I trotted beside Paxton as the storm I caused came to an abrupt end. I slipped inside as he held the door and ran up the stairs to my room. I bonked my head on the door and barked, Indigo opened the door and let me in.
Once the door was closed I shifted back to my naked floor and slipped into the bathroom taking a warm relaxing shower. I didn't want to talk to my siblings about what transpired. I lathered my hair with my oatmeal scented shampoo and washed my body with the Irish spring bar I carried with me. Once my hair was clean the conditioner went in. Standing under the hot spray was heavenly as the scalding water turned my skin bright red. My entire body was cold, it was like I couldn't absorb enough heat. It had been like this since I turned 18, at first I fear Paxton and I swapped powers.
I sighed and rinsed the conditioner from my now soft hair, once the water was off the wet strands were wrapped atop my head in a grey towel. I dried my body with a light pink towel before wrapping it around my torso. My ears felt gross so I cleaned them of the wax before I brushed my teeth and still wet hair. I left the bathroom in my towels to find Indigo and Hadley all dressed up.
"Hurry up Riley, the gala is in an hour." I rolled my eyes and walked to my bed, sitting on the foot of it.
"I'm not going."
"Yes you are." Indigo said putting the dress I brought for it on the bed.
"Try and make me." I said easily while looking at the plum matte color on my nails.
"All four of us will gang up on you." Hadley said with a sweet smile.
"I would like to see you try." I said with a dark laugh, being first born and I had the strongest power.
"I'll call dad."
"I'll fry him too." I snarled, Henry meowed from my feet as the static in the air messed up my siblings hair. He jumped on my lap and I calmed myself by running my fingers through his hair.
"What if your mate is there?" Indigo said with a sigh. "Riley, we found our mates, Hadley, Pax, Talia and I. Your mate should be here too." I looked at Hadley who nodded.
"When and where?" I asked suddenly very interested.
"The meeting chambers after you left, they're all Ghost-paw warriors." I got up and pulled off my towels before pulling on my dress and a pair of shoes.
"Let's go."
"You're not seriously going like that, are you?" Hadley said looking me up and down.
"If I find my mate, I'll be bringing him back up here to f**k, so it really doesn't matter what I look like." I left the room and went to the ball room without another word. I managed to zip the dark purple dress myself before lightly messing up my still drenched hair. I walked into the room and grabbed a plate of snacks before finding a table.
All my senses were on alert as I waited. I watched my siblings dance with their mates, share food and look at one another with love. After four hours my patience was up, I was tired of watching everyone else happy with the one they were fated too. My parents didn't even bother coming to apologize, they just stayed wrapped up in one another.
I left the building again and walked into the wilderness toward the lake. I looked up at the dark sky and found myself questioning if I even had a mate. As if getting an answer the smell of fire, cinnamon and danger filled my senses. I looked around not seeing anything so I ran toward the smell. When I found it, I wasn't ready.
