TWIST OF EVENTS
My whole being went numb with shock as I heard him claim me as his mate.
How was that even possible? I knew him from nowhere and I felt no mate attraction of any sort towards him.
Everyone gathered took it as a joke, not until he made it clearer and more resolute. “She is my mate and there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about it.” He repeated with a firm voice.
Ryder was drawn to anger. His hands clenched into a firm fist. I could tell he was ready to take out Alaric for saying what he had just said.
But we all knew that was never going to be possible. Ryder could get upset all he wanted, but at the end of the day he would have no choice but to bow to Alaric's demands.
