LOST
She stretched her body before opening her eyes and trying to adjust to the light rays in the room.
The room looked unfamiliar and distant, didn't smell like her room and looking around she realized that she wasn't in her room or anything close to it. This room was exclusive and smelt like luxury. Looking at the items in it, she realized she was in a VIP hotel room and as to how she got here she couldn't tell.
The banging headache was all she needed to remind her that she had been dead drunk yesterday and as to what followed after that she still couldn't tell. All she knew was that she had been drinking on her own at the club yesterday. Gosh, she felt like she'd been run over a truck, she was aching all over and she felt pain especially on her lower side. Was it because she had drunk so much??? She couldn't tell
Drying her sore body off the bed, she tried standing up when she saw the bloodstains on the white sheet.
Holding her mouth in shock as tears threatened to drop from her eyes, she could only hope that she was hallucinating or even in a dream.
Looking down at her body and realizing that she was bare was the last straw and, without further thoughts, she rushed to the bathroom to take a look at herself, looking at the hickeys all over her body and neck. Her mind told her all that had happened, but she couldn't believe it, she didn't want to. How had she ended up this way??? How did she let this happen? She thought, falling to the ground as tears started wailing uncontrollably from her eyes. The virginity that she so much valued and placed high had been taken away and the worst part was that she had given it to a complete stranger. If she had been told that her life would take a drastic turn in less than twenty-four hours, she could have laughed it off, but so much had happened and looking at her current state she couldn't help but recall what had led her to drink in the first place.

She had just been asked to come back home for her stepsister's engagement party and, in other not to mess things up, as her family was a prestigious one who valued complete attendance to anything. She had come back from college. Well, who wouldn't want the public to think they're getting along with their illegitimate daughter even though under the shadows that was what was happening. Yes, that was who she was. The illegitimate daughter of Matthew Dorkwin, a man who couldn't keep his d**k in his panties and yet she had to pay for it, a product of lust was what she was and it wasn't something to be proud of, was it??? Many people wished to be in her shoes, but she wondered if they really knew what she was going through. If they did, would they still want to be her at all?? Funny how people kept wishing to be others without knowing what they were passing through in the shadows.
Other than for academic affairs, she wasn't given an extra dime and sometimes she still needed to beg for it, so she had to work to earn money for both herself and her mum. It wasn't like she was complaining about it. If wishes were horses she wouldn't even ask them for a dime.
Standing outside as she watched prominent men and women troop inside the estate with their escorts, she sighed before entering and heading straight to her room in the maid's quarters inside the mansion. It was a very simple room with only a bed and a lamppost. The reading desk had been gifted to her by the head maid on her birthday because no one had remembered it. This was where she stayed each time she visited the mansion, which was rare anyway, as her life was pretty much occupied and she didn't want to add the hatred of stepsiblings to it.
Showering and getting dressed, she headed towards the party hall in order to make her early presence known and avoid trouble.
Just as she was about to enter the party hall, she heard someone call out her name. Turning around, she was shocked to see it was her boyfriend.
You wouldn't blame her for being surprised as he had kept telling her he was too busy to meet up with her these past few months, since most prominent people were attending, she got over her shock soon.
"You came" she said with a smile as she was very happy he had managed to make it, it had been long she last saw him and she even started to wonder when last they had seen and talked with each other. She really did miss him.
"I guess" came his weak reply and she chuckled, trying to hug him. He had never been a man of many words and each word he had uttered each time they were together had been a huge treasure to her. She had just loved him so much to care about other things.
He stopped her from hugging him, which came as a surprise to her, before asking they go to a more secluded area as he needed to speak with her about something.
She had asked if he was totally fine before leading him to the fountain and she remembered him shrugging her question off before asking for a breakup.
She had laughed because she'd thought he was joking and trying to prank her. Looking at his serious expression, her smile died down.
"Daniel, what kind of joke is this??? It's not funny at all" she had answered. If he was joking, then this one was surely expensive.
"I'm serious Madison, let's call it quits. I'm tired" he said, this time louder than the first time he had said it.
Looking into his eyes and seeing how sincere it looked, she couldn't help but wonder what made him say such hurtful words and mean it. Somehow her heart wished he could denounce all he had just uttered. It was taking everything in her not to slump to the ground right there.
"Why?? What's wrong?"she found herself whispering.
Never had she thought this would actually be happening to her, she had believed in first love and in them ending up together. But somehow she had ended up being in the heartbroken team.
They had been happy for the past four years they'd been together and there hadn't been a major problem with them since, or so she thought. Looking at him expectantly, still waiting for an explanation, the next word he said broke her physically and emotionally.
"I don't love you anymore, you disgust me. The fact that you're a product of disgrace makes me hate you the more. Being naive and stupid like your mum, you fell for me. You sure are stupid" he said with no remorse in his eyes, and that was what broke her the more.
"That's not true. You said I being an illegitimate child didn't matter to you all and that you loved me just like that" she shouted for the first time as tears poured down her eyes. That was too much. He was even insulting her mum despite knowing how much she hated someone doing that.
"You were foolish enough to believe that, you're actually pathetic."
"You said you would stay with me no matter what and that you wouldn't leave. You promised me that" she replied, clenching her fists and trying her best to fight back her tears.
Ever since she was little she had promised herself not to be weak or cry. Even when she had been bullied she had never shed a single tear, but this was different.
She sucked in air as she looked at him with expectant eyes. She didn't want him to do that to her.
He frowned at her, the disgust in his eyes was clear and she could see it vividly before turning to leave, grasping his right hand tightly.
"Tell me what I did wrong, huh?? I'll change it if it makes you so uncomfortable, I promise" she whispered as she cried out. She wasn't trying to be strong anymore.
It was funny how love can make a person change. Those who hadn't experienced this would think she was stupid or clingy but only she knew what she was going through.
Looking at her with a smirk
"Really?? You can do anything??? Good then change the fact that you're an illegitimate daughter only then would I look at you!!! But since you and I know you can't do that get lost" He yelled before pushing her away and leaving but not before cleaning his hands with a handkerchief and disposing it like it was contaminated
Swatting there as tears kept pouring she felt like her heart had been torn into pieces and nothing could mend it right now
This wasn't how it was meant to be, she loved and cherished him too much and had vowed to do so all her life do how did things get to this point??? How did they get here???
Her prince charming had turned into a beast the type that broke her heart without a second thought and right now she felt Soo lost. No she wasn't going to let it go just like that, after the engagement party she would call him out so they could talk things out, he must have been angry about something she did wrong. Her heart was refusing to settle for the fact that they might actually be over, she loved him too much to give up in their future, even if he had concluded then she should know the reason so that way she could move on.
With that in mind she went back to clean herself up and prepare for the party again admidst hiding her anxiousness and fear, hoping it won't be obvious. She wasn't going to show how weak she was or they might use it against her.
