Amongst the natural soothing sound of the ocean,sniffs could be heard from a seven year old girl named Grey,trying her possible best to minimize the intensity of her tears,which she failed terribly in doing.She sat at a particular dark corner of the sandy beach behind a rock that covered her slender feature perfectly,making her not easily spotted,her blonde hair covering her face as she hugged her kneels,her lively grey eyes where filled with sadness and her usually crystal clear sclera where blood red,her eyes stung more as the cool breeze hit them,”mom...”she mumbled inaudibly as the traveling wind consumed the sound making it seem as though she never said anything,she was on the verge of passing out. "Haaaa" Grey heard a sudden aggrieved sound coming from behind her. She looked back to see a scrubby little boy lying with his back on a rock while angrily staring at the sky. She got startled by his sudden appearance, she instinctively adjusted backwards Hearing the sound of sudden movements the little boy looked down to see a tiny little girl with tears all over her face looking terrified at him. "Awkward" he echoed in his head. After a while he jumped down then walked towards grey. Grey used her hands to move backwards getting ready to spring out of there “My dad told me if you cry too much you wouldn’t be able to see on your next birthday and when you sleep monsters would chase you around” the pale but yet handsome young boy spoke,then gave a toothy smile like what he said actually made sense. Grey realizing that he didn't mean any harm felt slightly relived but immediately started crying more because she thought no one would see her. “Oops”he felt slightly embarrassed that his attempt to stop her tears scared her instead”I honestly thought that would work,i guess it only sounded better in my head”he murmured with a pouted mouth. He sat down beside her while she shifted discomforted by his skin touching hers,he scratched his unkempt blonde hair which was now looking brown.”haaa”his ocean blue eyes sparkled because he finally got an idea,He shifted to his left side to pull out something from is right back pocket of his worn out jeans trousers,he held proudly in his little hands the candy is dad gave him a week ago”this right here is a magic candy given to me by a fairy,do you want to know what happens when you eat them?” The girl who was obsessed with Disney nodded her head gently signaling him to continue. "You have to say you want to know,if you do not say anything the magic won't work” She then answered "yes" with a trembling voice "Good,if you eat one you would have a nice future with a prince charming like me" Grey examined the boy from head to toe and he definitely wasn't looking like a Prince Charming she vigorously shakes her a signaling "no" "Okay fine like the one in Cinderella" he said feeling extremely insulted,he then looked at her to see if she would continue being interested and off course she was" in that nice future you wouldn't have to worry about anything,all your problems and nightmare's would be gone for good,do you want that?" "Yes" she nodded and said more firmly than before. "For it to work you have to share with me what you want to change in your life"he stared deeply into her grey eyes. she remembered vividly the memories she wished she had forgotten. -1 year ago - “mummy I’m not going to drink that”grey ran away from her mom unfortunately for grey her legs where short so therefore her three stride equalled one of her mothers,Maya her mom lifted her from the ground and placed her on the wooden table,they where in the kitchen of the huge mansion grey’s father owned,the house was empty aside from grey and maya.the house keepers comes only on Saturday of every week,while maya handled the Menial stuffs. Grey’s beautiful face was covered with frowns as she saw her mom pull the green liquid closer. Grey then tightened her rosy lips in defiance. “Open up Grey”her mom pleaded. “mummy please don’t do this to me or i will never forgive you and when i grow up I won’t buy you that red huge car i promised you” she blabbered trying to get out of the situation. “grey darling that huge car you promised to buy yourself,not me,is actually my car parked in the garage”her mom smirked at her. “what about the fancy blue bag, i’m definitely sure i promised to buy you that one” she pouted. “thats also my bag”her mom rolled her eyes. “then what did i promise to buy you”she placed her little fingers on her pouted lips trying to remember what she had promised her mom that her mom didn’t have. “the dress that barbie wore”her mom reminded her. she frowned her little face remembering how her mom stopped buying her barbie CD’s claiming “she buys grey everything but grey gets her nothing”,grey innocently promised to buy her one of the barbie gown she loved,what was she expecting from a six year old child. “but it’s beautiful”grey mumbled. “and also not real and stop trying to change the topic,you are not leaving this table until you drink this”she wiggled the medicine cup in front of grey. “i would love to stay here all day with my beautiful mumm—“ before she could finish her sentence maya pushed the fluid into her small mouth,she knew her daughter would be willing spend the whole day on the table if she hadn’t done that. “Moooommmm”she maneuvered her way off the table running towards the sink with the speed of light,but there was one problem,she was too short,her hands couldn’t go all the way to the tap head,so she gave her mom her award winning puppy dog eyes which maya always seem to fall for. They were in such a happy mood that they didn’t notice the broad figure standing at their back with a very pissed look. “mind if i join ” he said calmly, he face not showing his true emotions. Maya and grey both turned to face the owner”daddy!!” grey ran with all her might to hug her favorite person like she always does but only for him to step to the side while she landed on the floor with a loud thud. “why did you do that!”maya screamed at her husband while she ran to pick Grey up. “it was a mistake,wasn’t expecting her to do that like i wasn’t expecting what i found out today”he shrugged his shoulder then walked to sit at the chair near the dinning table. Maya noticed something was a bit off but decided to let it slid since it was his first time behaving like this.”are you okay honey?” she asked grey. “ye..yes” Grey nodded her head as she dusted her hands. “Where is my food”Grayson who was Maya’s husband demanded in a terrifying voice. “I’ll go make them”maya scurried towards the kitchen while grey sat far from her father not even daring to raise her head. “When you where busy having a tea party with your daughter you didn’t think I would eat something?”Grayson said harshly. “Well its not like I was expecting you home by this time” maya was actually right, it was just 11 o’clock on a Monday morning and his work was supposed to end 4 hours later,Grayson was the CEO of Luna enterprise,but Grayson didn’t take her reply too well. Grayson slammed the table which made grey flinch,she was now a little terrified of the man she was looking at,whom used to be her own version of ken in Barbie. “I don’t care what you were or were not expecting but I want to see my food in the next 10 minutes”he walked out of the kitchen towards the living room kicking grey’s little chair away. “Mom,is something wrong with daddy” grey asked her mom with a trebling voice scared but mostly concerned for her father . “No my gummy bear he is just having a bad day,he will get by it soon”she cleaned greys tears again assuring her,”go play in your room I would come get you when I’m done”she patted grey’s head. Maya finished preparing Grayson food,served it then called him to eat at the dinning table. Grayson sat on his chair”maya honey come here”. She did that,but wasn’t expecting the soup she prepared to be consumed by her hair ,instead of her husbands mouth. “What did you do that for!!”she yelled. “I told you 10 minutes,but it took you 15 minutes to cook this nonsense”he said nonchalantly. “what has gotten into you,you weren’t like this this morning ” she said at the verge of crying. “Well I just found out a shocking news do you want to guess?” “How would I know and beside what sort of news would make you act this way!”She screeched. “Oo maya” he said stressing the o more than necessary,”I wasn’t asking for you to tell me,it was more of a command and don’t you ever raise your voice at me”he slammed the fork he was holding on his hand to the wooden table near maya,making her jump in fright. “Please — I — I don’t know” she quivered. He laughed hysterically obviously loving her situation”let me help you out just a little”he smirked,then walked off to the side of the stair and dragged a terrified little girl by her hair. “What are you doing!!”Maya ran towards where Grayson was,trying to remove his hands from grey’s hair. “Well I heard this piece of s**t right here isn’t my daughter”he pushed grey on the ground with much force that her head hit the hard floor causing blood to gush out. Maya was having mixed emotions, their was shock,anger and most importantly fear,but she was brought back to the hard reality when she saw the blood gushing out of her daughters head”grey!!!” She screamed hugging her daughter who had already fainted on the cold ties,tears flooded maya’s eyes,as she tried waking grey up. Grey finally awoke with the vigorous shake her mom was giving her,,immediately she felt a stingy pain in her head "Mommm"grey called with a trebling voice "Yes baby,I'm here" maya answered slightly relieved. "It hurts so much"grey eyes started flowing with tears. ”grey my dear I’m so sorry,please don’t cry”she tried comforting the crying grey,but how could grey stop when the person comforting her was also crying. “I think you misplaced your priorities”Grayson stepped forward kicking maya on her stomach,she let out a disgruntled sound. “I’m the one you are supposed to apologize to not this bastard”he bent down and pinched grey’s face harshly,while grey yelped in pain. “Why should I apologize to you when I did nothing wrong!!”she screamed,holding grey in one hand and the other hand on her stomach. He laughed maniacally “Their’s my feisty little wifey”he dragged grey forcefully out of her hands towards the guests room opposite the stair case.”mom!”grey screamed trying to free her hands from the painful grip coming from the man she knew as her father. “What are you doing”maya scurried off the floor,but by the time she was near,Grayson was already inside the guest room with grey and the door was locked from the inside,”open the goddamn door Grayson!!open it now!”. Grayson pushed grey on the small sized bed“I want answers maya!” Grayson shouted back. “I swear,Grayson I swear,she is your daughter” maya sobbed still banging on the door. “Well that’s not the answer I was looking for,therefore grey has to be punished for it”Grayson drew out the belt from his waist and stroked grey with it,grey’s body felt like it was on fire,she screamed so hard hoping the pain would go away but it didn’t “mom!!”she wanted her mom to save her. “Grayson!!what the f**k her you doing in there,open the door please I beg you!” Maya was going crazy,she wished she could be the one instead of her little princess who has done absolutely nothing wrong “please!!” “Answer my goddamn question correctly”he fused up. “I’m telling you the truth,I don’t know where you heard it from but trust me,its me maya! I would never lie to you,please let her go” “I didn’t hear anything,I saw the evidence maya and once again your answer is wrong”he continued wiping the belt violently on grey’s natural rosy skin which was now turning brick red. Grey screamed and struggled with all her might but it was just an hopeless battle she was 6 and he was a 30 years old man,she had no where to run to,the wall was an obstacle to her escape.she began losing strength, as each stroke hit her skin violently,black dots filled her vision but she gathered her last strength to mumble “mummy help me"her throat suddenly becoming extremely dry "please!”her voice faded as l she completely blanked out. That was the beginning of grey’s thixophobia
