26 “Wake up sleepy head!” Grumbling, Cady rolled over and wrapped the covers more closely around her neck. Gran had the heat on, but there was still a distinct chill to the air and the skin on her nose and cheeks were aware of it. “Cades! C’mon! You promised to take us to the bakery as soon as we got here!” Sid’s enthusiasm was apparent as she strode across to Cady’s bed and bounced her hands up and down on the mattress a couple of times, jiggling Cady none-too-gently. Cady lifted her head, squinting at the clock on the nightstand. “Yeah… I did.
