25 Cady pulled herself together and relocked the door, and when she turned back Quinn was crouched in front of the potbelly stove, adding another log of wood and stoking the embers. “Would you like a hot chocolate?” Cady questioned nervously, tugging at the blanket over her shoulders. “I’d much prefer a coffee.” Cady busied herself making coffee with the new machine, pleased with the result. Along with Gran and Paulette, she’d taken lessons in operating the coffee maker, but she wasn’t certain she’d mastered the process. Quinn’s coffee seemed okay though, and she carried it across to the table. Quinn had pulled the table and chairs closer to the potbelly stove, and he offered her an encouraging smile when she put the coffee mug down on the table. “Might be better closer to the fire –
