CHAPTER ONE
-FAIRY ALI
Ever since the war ended, those ratched species of light and darkness have destroyed endless land. Wreaking havoc on the lands they called home. Slaughtering each other and caring less of the women and children that were to be thrown into battle.
Thousands died. Peace was never solidified. I believe they have no real reason of loathing each other.
Or whatever the reason may be, I completely and utterly despise both species. After all, they are the reason we do not worship ruler.
I will never forgive them.
We used to have a guardian. A maiden of a thousand years old who had the ability to heal every plant. A maiden who could manipulate the winds by the power 'miracle winds.'
She was my grandmother and her name was Lana.
She died, trying to stop the war. But died an unfair death. All she wanted was peace. Her death was proof of my decision to forever stay uninvolved.
My name is Ali. I was a disciple of my master, Lana. As I was her only disciple, I inherited her powers. I now watch over the eternal forest. I also protect the creatures living in it.
"Lady Ali! Lady Ali!" Plants in the form of humans gather before me. "There are intruders in the great entrance. I'm afraid they're from the demon race!"
A sigh flows through my throat as I shut my eyes. "A lovely afternoon, bothered by these classless species once again."
I stand from the bench surrounded by endless varieties of flowers, and follow them towards the intruder. Through a long bridge we walked above a wide lake, into the great entrance. Their scent got stronger, the closer I got to them.
Three warriors of darkness stood in line. They didn't look like they have been attacking my creatures, nor my forest. "May I ask you why you are in Fae forest?"
"My lady, we have an invitation to you from our king. It has been ten thousand years since the last war and you are to attend the tenth signing of the peace treaty." One of them steps up to me and sits on his knee while he opened a scroll.
It was indeed an invitation.
"I have never once been invited to those signings in the past five thousand years. Please enlighten me the reason for this." I tilt my head in question.
I seem to have aggravated one. His form ripples in anger. "Our king has shown his humility by inviting you. A mere fairy. Convey gratitude." His words held anger and annoyance.
"Do not look down on me, you warrior of darkness. It is you, who have disturbed by afternoon. Hold your tongue of disrespect, for you are on my land." I narrow my gaze.
A sword appears and the warrior leaps into my direction, only to get pushed back by my miracle wind. I send a gaze of challenge toward his companions. But they merely bow. "Fairy Ali, please forgive him. Our king does urge you to attend. Please consider." The warrior with the scroll pleads, standing up and retreating my lands with his companions.
"My lady, are you okay?" Small fairies circle around me in varieties of colours. "Those brutes no nothing but violence." My favourite fairy, chi, stated. Her face contorted in anger. "I'm fine, chi. Though I am not sure if I should go or not."
I grasp a fistful of my golden silk dress, giving my feet reprieve from stepping on it as I returned to the Kins hall. A resting home for the former guardian of the forest.
I pass by a group of human sized fairies, giving each other a cup of water from the river. "Greetings Lady Ali!" They waved at me.
A warm smile graces my lips as I walk past them. Though most of the time, I do not think I am worthy for this position, I am grateful for their trust.
"Lady Ali, we have prepared herbal tea for you. Please sit and relax." Jieli, the Kins hall's housekeeper, graced me with bow. "Thank you, Jieli." I smile, sitting down before a wooden table that had tea cup and a traditional kettle.
The fairy pours me a cup and bring it to my lips, relishing the taste of herbs gliding down my throat. "What will you do, lady Ali?" Chi asks me, her blue wings blaring as she's shrunk into a smaller size, hovering in the air beside me.
"I have to go, Chi. What will the former guardian think of me if don't pay my respects." I pout in defeat. "If it were up to me, I would never face those revolting creatures." I pull distasteful sneer. "But I must."
The fairy grows back to a larger size and sits next to me. "When are you leaving?" She asks, wide eyed with wonder.
"Tomorrow. It's a mere days trip. I don't know how long it will take. I've never had to attend the peace-treaty signings." I whine, thinking back to my peaceful years as a lowly fairy. No responsibilities at all.
"I miss, grandmother. It was easy when she took care of things involving this. She always believed that everyone has good in them."
"Fairy Lana, was a good being. I know you will be just as great as her, my lady." The fairy chirps, happily, making me smile. "You could be right, Chi." The fairy returns back to it's normal size and teleports out of the Kins hall. "Chi thinks too highly of me." I pour myself another glass of herbal tea.
"No, my lady. You have been dedicated to this forest for the past five thousand years. We are happy to be grateful to you. And I'm sure our former guardian is proud of you as well." Jieli bows with a small smile.
"It is difficult for me to look down on myself with you fairies around. Please leave." I sigh.
