54 Despite all the rain we got in Seattle, the summers were unusually dry. Lawns suffered if they didn’t receive enough water. Some years ago at our waterfront home I bought into the widespread theory that the grass doesn’t die, it just goes dormant and comes back with the fall rain. So to conserve water and save money I elected to let a big section of lawn go waterless. The result was that some of the lawn came back.
