Charlie’s gaze followed Jace as he walked away. “Why…?”
“He’s in love with you,” Ricky told him, realizing Charlie had no clue.
“He can’t be. He’s straight?” He seemed incredulous. “I mean he is. Isn’t he?”
Ricky carefully rubbed his jaw and winced, grumbling, “Under the circumstances I’d say not.” He knew it was the truth but he wasn’t going to admit it to Charlie. After all, I did promise Jace I wouldn’t. Why his promise still mattered now he wasn’t certain, but it did.
“He never…Why hasn’t he said something?”
Ricky sighed. “Come.” He led Charlie to a just vacated table at the back of the club. “There’s a lot of reasons I suspect. One, he doesn’t think what his s****l preferences are should matter to anyone but him. Two, he sees himself as uninteresting.”
