“Let’s talk about this book, In Me, On Me, and All Around Me,” the DJ says into the mic with his deep, polished voice. “I understand that was the title of one of the unreleased songs?” It was a song that was difficult to write because it encompassed everything we were feeling over the past decade.
“Yeah, it just seemed fitting. It was one of the last songs we had worked on together,” I say nostalgically. I can keep my emotions in check if I try hard enough, and I will not break down in front of this guy.
“What an emotional read. I felt like someone ran me over with a Mack truck when I was done.” He laughs sympathetically.
“I know the feeling,” I joke half-heartedly with him.
