ERIN The table I’m sitting at has a sticky film to it that only dive bars can lay claim to. The air is so muggy and tangible it feels like a blanket on me, even though I’m indoors and the a/c is on. I think it’s just Texas; the summer humidity seeps in through every c***k, and you can’t hide from it. Bodies pack the area in front of the stage, and the bar is filled with excited shouts. Only the sound of a Les Paul drowns out the chatter, and I am in love. This band has the classic rock melody of Tom Petty, but the cool indie vibe of The Lumineers, and it’s no wonder why they are on the verge of exploding. I can feel it like electricity in the air.
