The Full Moon 🌑

I keep thinking of my last encounter with Josh its been almost a month since then and Star is mad at me for leaving him and his wolf heart broken she hasn't talked to me much since then I can't blame her, but enough about that tonight is a full moon and I'm pretty excited about that me and Ella shift into out wolves and go for a run outside of Chicago. I leave work early and head back to my place as I walk in Ella is cleaning the apartment. She is so sweet keeping our place clean and makes me food when I come home I smile at her "hey Ella are you ready for our run tonight?"

"heck yeah! I'm always ready for this im super excited can we leave soon?"

she says this as she finishes the dishes.

"yeah sis we will leave in ten minutes" I say to her as I change into some black joggers, black Victoria secret pink pull over, and my converses. Ella puts on grey joggers, a pink Nike zip up, and black nike running shoes she grabs a back pack to put our clothes in after we shift. She smiles at me and says ready with so much excitement. We walk towards our destination it doesn't take long because as wolves we are faster then humans but not as fast as vampires. We reach our destination and strip our clothes and I watch my sister shift Ella's wolf is dark brown with a red ears and red paws wolf is beautiful. I shift next and Star my wolf she is beautiful too she is all white with grey ears and grey paws. Star and Ella's wolf Mystic take control and start to run into the woods.

Stars P.O.V

Once we shift I can feel the full moon calling to me I look over at Mystic and we take off running in the woods. "This is so fun!"

I hear Mystic say to me through our link, I look over my shoulder and see that she is keeping pace with me. We're running about 35 mph though the woods hearing sticks snapping under our feet trees going by in a flash. Looking up at the moon to see if we can see it clearly and we can't. We're looking for a spot where we can see the moon clearly and howl up at the moon. I don't recognize where we are at any more but I found the perfect spot on this hill.

"here it is Mystic the perfect spot"

I mind link her she just nods her head as we sit up top of the hill next to each other and I start first then Mystic joins in and we just sit there howling up at the moon it feels so great the power of the moon is overwhelming. While we were howling I heard sticks crunching on the ground and water being splashed like someone stomped in the stream close by us.I turn towards the sound and see a red laser line leading towards Mystic I jump towards her pushing her out of the way before the bullet can hit her.

She looks at me from her spot on the ground looking absolutely petrified"run! dont look back go home!"

Turning towards the humans I growl letting them know what they are dealing with and who they are facing. I need to make sure Mystic gets away safely.

"one is getting away!"I hear the humans say growling even louder I swipe my paw at the humans knocking one to the ground and they focus on me instead of Mystic. She gets away safely and I can take these humans out without harming them to bad. I launch myself towards them swiping my paw at one knocking him down and hitting the gun away from him,Turning to face another human he aims at me and shoots but I dodge the bullet and take him out with my tail causing him to go unconscious.The rest of the humans start to form a circle around me they aim their guns at me and I hear a human come up behind them.Growling even louder they let that human who I assume is the leader stops in front of me.

"you are trespassing on this land.please shift into your human form and I will take you to see our boss.He will decide your punishment.I can give you a shirt to wear for the walk."

I recognize this man as Caden the second in command for the Rouge Mafia.I stand there still in defense position waiting to see if this is a trick but it is not.I walk backwards towards a tree never once turning my back on these men and I growl loud at them.

"Lower your weapons and turn around don't look at her."

I hear him tell them and they do as he says. I shift back into my human giving command back to Layla telling her not to let her guard down around them and that ill give her strength if she needs to attack and escape.

Star gives control back over to me and I do as she says I don't let my guard down once I shifted back I ask for the shirt and Caden comes forward with his hand over his eyes, holds out the shirt for me and I grab it pulling it over my head. I step out from behind the tree just as Caden pulls his hand away from his eyes he looks stunned to see me.

"Its you Layla, your a wolf?"

"well don't look so suprised Caden, now lead the way to your boss before I change my mind about seeing my mate."I say to him and he just turns around with a smile on his face. Caden leads me through the woods to this big house with a iron fence around the property you can see the moon very clear here I see why my mate would put up a house out here the view of the full moon is amazing.Following the stone path to the front door I stand there not wanting to continue because I know what is waiting on the other side of the door, no not a what but a who and that who is my mate Josh. Caden notice my hesitation and comes back to stand by me.

"you know Layla he been a total wreck without seeing you. He hasn't took a shower, hasn't been sleeping or eating. you look find but deep down you have been feeling the same way he has you just dont look like he dose."

He is right I don't say anything just nod at him and he continues into the house he explains the foundation of the place as we go by.The first floor has a living room to the left with a bathroom off to the side while the right has a kitchen and dining room and towards the back is the elevator he presses the button to go up and explains as we reach each floor.The men here stay on the second floor which has 6 rooms for each one and each room has a bathroom, the third floor is where Nichols lives he has a master bedroom and extra room on his floor along with a bathroom in each room and living and dining room as well, the fourth floor is where Caden lives his floor is the same as Nichols, we finally reach the fifth floor where my mate lives on we step out of the elevator and I look around not knowing what to expect.His floor has a master bedroom with a bathroom as well there are two extra rooms and one extra bathroom, there is a kitchen and dining room, and a home theater.We walk towards the back of the house where his office is at Im not ready to face him but Caden smiles at me and opens the door.Not knowing what to do I just stand there in the doorway looking at him looking at the full moon.He is glowing from the light of the full moon and it is making my heart race even when he doesn't look like himself he still has that godly presence surrounding him.Josh finally noticed my presence and turns towards me with so much affection in his eyes.

"Layla? is it really you? am I dreaming?"
