From a lack of love and physical abuse at her parents' hands, Chelsea never dreamed big as a child. What she wanted to be when she grew up? Oh, just happy. Because home wasn't happy, and it wasn't even a home. You could say she even bewailed growing up, because growing up meant, "being grumpy." Never letting anyone in, and retreating into her own mind, she even struggles to make friends. She shut herself down from both family and society. Although, after her parents decide her homeschooling days are over, she's no choice but to venture into a world still so foreign to her. How will Chelsea fare through the new realm of socializing? And will middle school be easy on someone who's the 'looks' of an outcast? A story of abuse, loss, isolation, the wounded child, precarious friendships, unrequited love, and the disappointment that comes with being a struggling teen.
