Chapter 17 - Drunk

1977 Words
Chapter 17 Drunk I stood there, stock still. The thought that this nice guy might actually have a girlfriend never struck me. I just presumed he was single. And yet, there he was, making out with this chick. To say I felt awkward was an understatement. And yet, I couldn't take my eyes away from their locked lips. When they finally pulled away from each other, it was like I didn't exist. They just stared at the other while panting for breath. Finally, I cleared my throat. "Oh," Hayden said, jumping slightly, "Hannah, this is Bree. Bree, Hannah." The black haired girl released her legs from Hayden's waist and walked over to me. "Hi!" She exclaimed, wrapping me in a hug. I was too startled to respond. I didn't know her and she was hugging me? Weird. "How are you? Oh my god! You broke your wrist! Are you okay?!" "...Fine," I responded, pulling back out of her hug. She released me, but it seemed kind of hesitant. I shot Hayden a pleading look, but he just smirked. "I'm going to run to the restroom, you girls have fun." He said, jogging off in the opposite direction. Curse Hayden, he left me alone with the spazzy girl! "So, you're Hayden's girlfriend?" I asked slowly, sitting back down at the table. She sat down across from me, a huge smile on her lips. "Well, yes," She took a bite of some leftover pizza. "But don't worry, Honey, he isn't cheating on me with you. It's an open relationship." I gaped at her as she winked at me, taking a long swig from Hayden's cup. "Huh?" I asked dumbly, blinking at her. She thought that me and Hayden...? Oh dear Lord... "Open relationship," She said slowly, popping the 'p,' "It means we can see other people. So, he's good isn't he?" Me being me, I was totally oblivious to what she said. I c****d my head, raising an eyebrow. "In bed?" "Oh, no! We're just friends." I stated, my face immediately turned red. She thought we were a 'couple?' Oh gosh, my face was burning up. "Well, you don't know what your missing." She said, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively. "What are you missing?" Hayden asked, sitting down and slinging an arm around Hannah's shoulder. That only made me blush a deeper shade of red. I buried my head in my hands, hoping she wouldn't say anything. "Nothing," She said with a smirk, much to my relief. Can you imagine what he would say if he knew we had a conversation that had his name and the word bed in the same sentence? "Oh, I'm supposed to tell you that Nate is having a Christmas party tonight. His parents are out of town." "His parents went out of town without him?" I asked, c*****g my head. "It's almost Christmas." Three days, to be exact. "They don't really celebrate Christmas." Hannah muttered, a weird look crossing her face. Something told me not to ask, so I kept my mouth shut. "So, we're going?" Hayden asked, looking at Hannah. She gave him a look that clearly said 'duh.' "Alright then, Bree, do you want to come?" I hesitated, biting my bottom lip. Did I want to go to a party with total strangers? Well, Mackenzie and Kayla had ditched me, and Anthony was ignoring me, so I was all alone. "Sure," I finally said, deciding to buck up. I couldn't hide under my good girl cover forever, it was time to get a taste of the world. "Why not?" Hayden gave me a smile, winking at me. Sure, I had the feeling at the bottom of my stomach, you know? The one that lets you know you've made a bad decision? Well, I ignored it. After a few more minutes of talking, Hayden led us out to his black pick up truck. I had to squeeze in the middle between Hayden and Hannah, it wasn't comfortable. I was surprised by how late it had gotten - the sun was already going down. Why hadn't Mackenzie contacted me? It had been hours since they disappeared, and the phone calls ad stopped coming. Just for good measure, I check my phone. Nothing. I'm not sure what disappointed me most; not hearing from Mackenzie, or not hearing from Anthony. "We're here." Hannah sang, pointing to a large, red brick mansion. We had been driving down a country road for about twenty minutes and were clearly in the middle of nowhere. I'm pretty sure this house was the only one for miles. It was beautiful though, like one you would see in a movie. There were white pillars in the front and a beautiful garden surrounding the front lawn. We hopped out of the car, walking up the circular pathway to the front door. The size of the house was quite intimidating, I must admit. I could already hear the music outside, the base pumping so loud I thought my eardrums would explode. People littered the yard and porch, most of them holding a cup in their hands. "Hey, Nate!" Hayden called, waving a teenage boy over. He had black shaggy hair, green eyes, and a silver nose ring. "This is Bree, she's joining us tonight." "Awesome," He smiled, holding his free hand out to me. "Nice to meet you, Bree, I'm Nate." I smiled, shaking his hand. "Want me to show you where the drinks are?" He asked, shaking his red plastic cup lightly. "Sure?" I said after a moment, but it sounded like more of a question. He laughed again, motioning for me to follow him. He led me into the large house, which was just as beautiful inside. Of course, the beauty was slightly diminished because of all the people inside. They were dancing to whatever song was playing, insanely close. I'm talking pressed up against each other. Not that they could help it. I got ground against just pushing my way through the crowd. After a while of struggling, Nate finally led me into a kitchen. There were less people here. Just two guys chatting and a girl sticking her tongue down another guys throat. I ignored them and grabbed an empty cup. "What would you like?" Nate asked, motioning to the fridge. "I don't care," I responded, because I really didn't. I'm not sure when I stopped caring, maybe it was when my father broke my wrist. Or when he punched a wall this morning. Everything just felt so numb. Nate handed my cup back a second later, and it was full of a clear liquid. I gulped down two large mouthfuls, wincing when the liquid burned all the way down my throat. Yup, there was definitely alcohol in that. "Whoa there," Nate chuckled, "Slow down, you'll get sick." Just as the words left his mouth, my head spun slightly. I could already feel the slight buzzing at the bottom of my stomach. I giggled, taking another sip, slower this time. "So, where are you from?" Nate asked, practically yelling over the music. He leaned against the wall, sipping on his own drink. "A few hours away," I answered, leaning against the opposite wall. He looked at me for a moment before speaking again. "Got a boyfriend?" Anthony popped into my head. No, Bree, he isn't your boyfriend! Not even close! I shook my head, pushing Anthony from my thoughts. I refused to think about him! "Girlfriend?" I asked, downing the rest of my drink. My vision blurred again, but I could see him shaking his head. "Want another drink?" He asked, taking my cup. I shrugged, not really caring. Why was I here again? And how much alcohol was in that thing? What was it, even? "How old are you?" "Seventeen. Just turned." I replied, taking my now full cup back from his hands. "You?" "Same," He replied with a smile, pouring clear liquid into his own cup, "You're here for Christmas?" I nodded, running a hand through my hair. "My parents don't do Christmas, it's a religion thing." "Oh," I said, biting my bottom lip. One thing my parents had taught me was not to talk about another person's religion. They also taught me not to drink underage, but look where that got me. "Want to dance?" Nate asked as LMFAO's 'Sexy and I Know it' started playing. I nodded, quickly drinking everything in my cup. My cup, at the time, had been full. So when I dropped the cup from my lips, I was pretty woozy. God, it must've been high in alcohol. Well duh Bree, it burned to drink. That just shows you how inexperienced I was at that sort of thing. Nate blinked at me in shock before grabbing my hand and dragging me to the living room where everyone was dancing. I couldn't help the smile that was plastered on my face. I felt dizzy. Was it possible to be drunk after two drinks? Because I was definitely buzzed. We pushed our way to the center of the dance floor, our heads moving to the beat. At first, Nate nervously wrapped his arms loosely around my waist. I frowned. Was I not attractive? All the other girls were practically getting dry humped! Anthony didn't want me and neither did Nate? And that's when I made up my mind. I would show Anthony. I wrapped my arms around Nate's neck, pulling myself closer until my whole body was pressed up against his. He blinked at me in shock, his mouth hanging open slightly. Rolling my eyes, I started dancing. Well, to the best of my ability. I had never been the best dancer in the world. Nate didn't care, my bold actions encouraged him. He wrapped his arms tighter around my waist, deciding to grind against me. I had always hated 'grinding,' but, maybe it was the alcohol in my system, I went along with it. We danced for a few songs before making our way back to the kitchen, grabbing yet another drink. This time Nate poured me a yellow drink, but it tasted a little like lemons, so I didn't complain. I lost track of time while we talked. Well, Nate talked, I flirted. I was determined to win my quest. Surely some guy was attracted to me, and Nate was a teenage guy. O was practically throwing myself at him. At some point I lost count of how many drinks I had consumed. Everything was starting to blur together and get hazy. I couldn't really make sense of anything, but I did notice when Nate grabbed my hand. He led me outside into the back yard. There was this big wall of bushes, which he pulled me through. On the other side of the bushes, there was a large field full of horses. I stared at them for a second before Nate pulled me to face him, his lips attacking my neck. I giggled, a warm feeling bursting inside of my stomach. I was winning, I was getting what I wanted. I was also aware, but barely, that I was completely drunk. I didn't even remember what I had been doing five minutes before that moment. Not caring, I wrapped my arms around Nate's neck, tangling my fingers in his black hair. He started sucking on the base of my neck, making me moan. Suddenly, he pulled back and crashed his lips to mine. I responded as best I could, jumping up and wrapping my legs around his waist, just like I had seen Hannah do. He placed his hands on my butt. That kiss wasn't like my kiss with Anthony; it was sloppy, hungry, and drunken. Nate squeezed my ass lightly, and for a brief second, I wondered how far I would let this go. But you know what? I didn't care.
