“What were you guys taking about?” Martin asked as he walked over. “Nothing much.” I said as he sat down. We ate our food and the bell rang to signal the end of break. We went back to class and the rest of the day went smoothly. When school was over Martin took me home. I got inside the house and made my way to the kitchen. The dishes were still in the dishwasher and I knew my brother had probably not left his room. I made my way up the stairs and into his room to check on him. He was sitting playing video games as usual. “Hello Conner, how are you feeling?” I asked as I sat down on his bed. “Better thank you Addison.” He said not even bothered to look at me. “Did you eat and take you’re meds?” I asked. “Yes I sis I did.” He said as he continued to play his game. “Okay I’m going to clean up downstairs do you want anything while I’m in the kitchen?” I asked as I got up from his bed. “No thank you.” He said. I left the room and made my way downstairs again. I cleaned the kitchen and washed the dishes. I made my way back upstairs. When I got to my room there was a letter on my pillow. I walked over and picked the letter up. I opened it and sat down on my bed. the letter read:
My dear Addison
How I miss you. You looked so perfect today just like every other day. I’ve been watching you closely, you seem happy and that’s all that I want for you. I love you Addison and I’m sorry I didn’t show it but I’m showing it now. Starting from today I’ll give all my attention and time to you. I think about you a lot, every night before I go to bed you’re the last thing on my mind, and every morning when I wake up you’re the first thing on my mind. I love you Addison and I promise to show you how much I love you every day from now on. I hope your brother is doing better.
Love
Your mate
The letter was written in red and the penmanship was perfect. I couldn’t help but smile at the letter. Martin was so sweet to have written me this letter and leave it on my bed without me knowing. I picked my phone up and texted Martin to thank him for being so sweet.
Addison:
Hey love, I wanted to thank you for the letter and say my brother is doing better thank you. I love you too and you do show me how much you love me every day I couldn’t ask for a better boyfriend.
Martin:
I’m glad your brother is doing better my love and I love you too, but I don’t know what you’re talking about I never wrote you any letter.
Addison:
You didn’t? Then who wrote to me?
Martin:
No love I didn’t. It might be someone who has a crush on you.
Addison:
Thank you babe. See you tomorrow.
I put my phone down and laid on my bed thinking about who could have written that. I stared at the celling and darkness soon engulfed me.
I woke up it was still dark out and you couldn’t hear any animal or human except crickets in the distance. I looked at my phone and saw the time it was 01:00. I got out of bed and looked around my room. I had this weird feeling that someone was watching me. I put on my jacket and walked downstairs to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and poured myself a glass of water. I walked back upstairs and climbed back into bed. I couldn’t shake the feeling of someone watching me. I laid there staring at the celling, after about an hour of just laying there I got up and closed the blinds hoping the feeling would subside. I got back into bed and drifted off to sleep.
I woke up the next morning with my alarm screaming in my ears. I put it off and got out of bed and headed to the bathroom for a shower. I opened the water and walked back to my room to get my clothes. I picked out a red shirt with blue jeans and sneakers. I walked back to the bathroom and the water had warmed up. I stripped and got in the shower letting the warm water wash away all my fears. I get out of the shower and dry myself off. I get dressed and head into my bedroom to pack my book for school. I realised I hadn’t opened the blind yet. I walk over to the window and open the blinds. I pack my books and head downstairs for breakfast. As per usual my parents already left for work and my brother was still in his room. I make myself a bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee. When I’m done I pick up my bag and walk out the door. Martin was already waiting for me. I couldn’t help but smile as I get in the car. Martin had a black shirt with blue jeans on. “Morning darling.” He said while giving me a kiss on the cheek. “Moring babe, how did you sleep?” I asked as I fastened my seatbelt. “Good darling and you?” He asked as he pulls out of the driveway. “Good thank you.” I wanted to tell him about everything that’s been happening about I couldn’t sleep and about the feeling of being watched, but I couldn’t put that pressure on him. I didn’t want him to worry about me, I can handle this myself. We arrive at school and I get out of the car. I take Martin’s hand as we walk onto school grounds. We walk to the rugby field where everyone is waiting for us.
"Hey guys" Sara said with a smile.
"Hi Sara." I said giving her a hug.
