I cherished waking up in the morning, greeted by Nathan's presence. His arm encircling me made it seem as though he feared I might vanish during the night, reminiscent of when I had already done so once before. Perhaps he truly harbored a fear of my disappearance happening again? I prayed it wasn't the case.
“You’re staring,” he remarked, smiling a little.
“It’s called gazing,” I corrected him.
He still had his eyes closed as I lay there in our bed watching him.
“It’s kind of creepy.”
“It’s romantic,” I insisted.
He opened one of his eyes, and I smiled at him before he closed it and then turned around.
