When we came home, Jax was up and waiting for us. It was evident he was mad about today, and I understood that, but we didn’t need an argument to happen in the middle of the night. It could wait until tomorrow, though he didn’t seem to agree with that, as he stopped us from going upstairs.
“Let’s talk,” he insisted. “Now!”
“Can’t it wait?” I inquired.
He shook his head, his eyes mostly on Megan, who seemed to shrink at my side. I didn’t like that, but I also understood why Jax didn’t want to wait. Firstly, he had never been a patient person, and secondly… Well, Megan did corner him today.
