3. Hit Me!

Four familiar red eyes were boring into mine and a few brows were raised, as if confused by my actions. Okay let's try that again... "Sire, may I ask what it is that you are doing?" Ignoring Wardrock's words, I closed my eyes once more, this time I kept them closed for about twenty seconds before opening them, but unfortunately, I was once again disappointed by the creatures that were still present infront of me. "He must be having an heart attack!" Sapheme voiced her ridiculous suspicion, her expression contorting into one of panic. "Apologies for my sister's stupidity, my lord." Gylador elbowed the air and out of nowhere a ball of fire materialized and surged towards Sapheme. She didn't seem the least bit surprised by the sudden attack coming her way, she only giggled then lurched her head to the side at the very last minute, swiftly evading it. I; being the only bewildered person in the room, pushed myself impossibly closer to the wall and without thinking, pointed a trembling finger at them, eyes wide in utter astonishment, "How d-did you do that?!" I was genuinely curious as to how fire forged out of thin air, but at the same time, I was terrified by the fact that I felt the heat from it. As if the question was exceedingly difficult to answer, they looked to each other in uncertainty. "Don't bother answering that." I grunted, "Until I finally wake up from this dreadful dream, you guys can just stay over there and I'll occupy this little corner right here. capeesh?" "Dream? Sire, this is not a dream. Gylador tell him." All eyes turned to Gylador, mine included. No, it's not that I doubted myself...In my defence, I have absolutely nothing better to do other than to listen to their foolishness. "We came to know of your reincarnation twenty-five years ago when the fire in your staff that had been completely extinguished after your death, had ignited. We immediately began preparing for your retrieval, but after confirming that you had not been reborn in the underworld, we came to the conclusion that the quickest way to find you alongside searching all the realms, was to summon you. For years, hundreds of demons with immense summoning abilities have tried to summon you, but Delari here, was the only one who succeeded in doing so. I suggest rewarding her for her services." I looked at him incredulously, jaws dropped and eyes wide. Since they didn't burst out laughing after saying something so preposterous, I have reason to believe that they seriously thought I was this Lucifer they kept talking about. So for arguments sake, let's say there's a 99.9% chance that I'm still dreaming and a teeny weeny 0.1% chance that I'm not actually dreaming and these people are telling the truth. They have their unconvincing story along with the fact that I can actually feel pain to support their claim, and on the other hand, I've got my own unshakable belief that this is actually a dream. Which means, I have the upperhand...I think. I nodded to myself. That's a brilliant way to put it. "How do you feel to finally be back?...I mean, doesn't this place seem oddly familiar?" Wardrock snapped me out of my thoughts, his facial expression making it seem as if he dreaded whatever answer I would give. "How I feel? Well if I'm to be honest here, then I'd say I kinda feel like I'm not really 100% sane up here--" I tapped my head, "--seeing as I just contemplated whether to believe your ridiculous story or not." "We are speaking the truth, sire," Sapheme insisted. "What can we do to prove it to you?" "You can't possibly prove th-" then an idea popped into my head...a very risky one if it turns out that I'm not actually dreaming, but I'll take the chance, "let's try this," I began to suggest, instantly grabbing their utmost attention. I couldn't resist rolling my eyes at their desperation to prove themselves right. "Throw a punch at me...If I feel the pain--- which I doubt will happen---, I'll acknowledge that this is not a dream and I'll pretend, keyword: 'pretend' to be the viscous Lucifer you think I am. Fair enough?" Yes, I know I already acknowledged that I could feel pain, but who knows, I might've just been delusional... I was smiling quite brightly at that, yet they managed to look wary and indecisive. They're seriously making me feel like I'm the one talking s**t. "Come onnnnn. Hurry up and hit meee!" I drawled, impatiently egging them on by pushing off the wall a bit and turning my face to the side, baring my cheek. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Delari avoid my gaze, Wardrock was frozen in his spot due, while Sapheme was the first to shake her head in disapproval, "We cannot dare hurt yo-" "As you wish, sire." Gylador unexpectedly began to step forward, unlike the others, his eyes held no emotion whatsoever. "this might hurt a lot." "On second thought, nevermi-" Before I could finish my words, a fist connected with my left cheek, sending the opposite side slamming into the wall behind it. Pain like no other erupted and I found myself instantly seeing back dots taking over my vision. The last thing I heard was someone's scream as footsteps hurried towards me...before everything went completely black.
