EXT. MEDIEVAL TOWN - DAY
KATSUYA and AKIRA step into the bustling town. Wooden stalls line the streets, and the air is filled with the sound of merchants shouting and the smell of baked goods. Katsuya’s eyes widen, overwhelmed by the sights and sounds.
KATSUYA
Wow! Look at all this! It’s like a dream!
AKIRA
(cheerfully)
I told you it would be amazing! The marketplace is just the start.
Katsuya’s gaze wanders to an array of colorful fruits and trinkets. Akira leads him through the crowd, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
KATSUYA
I’ve never seen anything like this before. Back in my worl-- I mean town , everything was so… dull.
AKIRA
Dull? You mean you didn’t have any magical battles with forest guardians?
Katsuya laughs, rubbing the back of his neck, clearly embarrassed.
KATSUYA
Nope, just homework and chores.
Akira giggles, her laughter infectious. As they pass by a stall, Katsuya grabs a piece of fruit curiously.
KATSUYA
What’s this one?
AKIRA
That’s a sweet apple. You’ll love it!
Katsuya takes a bite, and his eyes light up.
KATSUYA
Wow! This is incredible! I could get used to this.
Akira points ahead.
AKIRA
Look! The adventure guild is just up ahead.
EXT. ADVENTURE GUILD - DAY
They stand before a large building with a wooden sign hanging above the entrance, creaking slightly in the breeze. Many adventurers come and go, their medals glinting in the sunlight.
KATSUYA
(suddenly nervous)
I—uh, I don’t know if I should go in. I mean, I’m only level one…
Akira gives him a reassuring smile, placing a hand on his shoulder.
AKIRA
Hey, don’t worry about that! Trust me, you’ll be fine. Besides, you’ve already fought and beaten a strong forest guardian!
Katsuya chuckles nervously.
KATSUYA
Yeah, but that was different! This is a whole guild full of seasoned adventurers…
AKIRA
(forcing a grin)
And they all started somewhere, right? Let’s go!
With a deep breath, Katsuya follows Akira inside. The interior buzzes with excitement and chatter. They approach the RECEPTION DESK, where a woman with striking red hair and a sharp gaze sits.
AKIRA
(excitedly)
Hi, Mira! It’s been a while!
Mira looks up, her expression turning from professional to warm.
MIRA
Akira! You’re back! I didn’t hear you were coming.
KATSUYA
Hi, I’m Katsuya! Nice to meet you.
Akira nudges him with her elbow.
AKIRA
He’s my new partner.
Mira’s eyes widen, taking a better look at Katsuya.
MIRA
Really? I hope you know what you’re getting into, Katsuya.
Katsuya shrugs, sheepishly smiling.
KATSUYA
I guess I’m just here to learn.
Mira raises an eyebrow, her expression serious.
MIRA
Watch out for hunters then. I hear they’re on your tail, Akira. What happened?
The mood shifts slightly. Akira’s smile falters.
AKIRA
(sighs)
I’m working on an intel mission to uncover some shady dealings from a mayor in the next town over. They found out, and now I’m a target.
Katsuya frowns, glancing at Akira.
KATSUYA
Is that why you’re so brave? You’re keeping the town safe?
AKIRA
(laughs softly)
Something like that. But it’s not all about being brave. Sometimes I just end up in trouble without thinking. And also Mira I want you to register him as an adventurer.
MIRA
Sure, let me just check his skill set,(surprised) your stats is all level 1 are you sure you want to become an adventurer?
KATSUYA
Is not okay? (thinking that he may not become an adventurer)
MIRA
No,Its okay, you got Akira here as your teammates, but I'm gonna rank you as an F rank, is that okay?
KATSUYA
(excited)
Ofcourse!!!
MIRA
Then, by that your party will be ranked as C rank. And that's it congratulations.
Mira gestures to a bulletin board filled with job postings.
MIRA
If you’re looking for a quest, the D-rank jobs might be perfect for you two. There’s a pack of horned wolves causing trouble past the old mill.
Katsuya gulps.
KATSUYA
Horned wolves? What’s D-rank like?
Mira steps down to stand beside them, her demeanor turning serious.
MIRA
D-rank is challenging but doable, especially for a team. You have to be careful, though. They hunt in packs.
Akira’s eyes light up with enthusiasm.
AKIRA
Sounds perfect for us! What do you say, Katsuya?
Katsuya glances at the bulletin board again, uncertainty creeping across his face.
KATSUYA
I mean, what if I mess up? I’m still new…
AKIRA
(cheerfully)
That’s why we’re in this together! I’ll cover your back, and you can learn as we go.
Katsuya flashes an uncertain smile, feeling reassured by her warmth.
KATSUYA
Okay, let’s do it!
Mira hands them a quest sheet.
MIRA
You’ve got this! Just remember to communicate. That’s the key to any successful team.
AKIRA
(grinning)
Don’t worry, Katsuya! Just follow my lead!
They exit the guild, determination filling the air around them.
EXT. OLD MILL - LATER
The old mill creaks eerily as Katsuya and Akira approach, their excitement mixed with tension. They hear low growls and sense movement in the darkened bushes.
KATSUYA
(warily)
Are you sure they’re here?
AKIRA
(firmly)
Yep. Just stay calm, and let’s see how many there are.
Suddenly, a pack of HORNED WOLVES emerges from the shadows, teeth bared and eyes glinting like daggers. They circle around the pair, growling menacingly.
KATSUYA
(Surprised)
Here they come! What do we do!?
AKIRA
(steady voice)
We fight! Stay by my side. Follow my lead!
The wolves launch forward, and Akira draws her sword with a swift motion, slashing at the nearest wolf. Katsuya, though nervous, follows her example and draws his own weapon.
KATSUYA
(stammering)
Okay! I can do this!
The first WOLF lunges toward Katsuya. He swings his sword but misses, stumbling slightly.
AKIRA
(shouting)
Katsuya! Aim for the base of its neck!
Katsuya nods, focusing fiercely. As the wolf charges again, Katsuya times his move better and strikes true, hitting the wolf and causing it to yelp in shock.
KATSUYA
(excited)
I did it!
Another wolf jumps at Katsuya from the side. Akira reacts quickly.
AKIRA
Katsuya, get down!
She knocks the wolf aside with a powerful kick. Katsuya ducks, narrowly missing the attack.
KATSUYA
(breathless)
Thanks!
A brief moment of connection passes between them, their teamwork strengthening. The pack retaliates, now more aggressive.
AKIRA
(shouting)
Stay close! We need to watch each other’s backs!
