KATSUYA (28, disheveled, wearing a wrinkled shirt) trudges along, head down, dodging the throngs. He grips his lunch bag, the contents rattling with each step. KATSUYA (muttering to himself) This isn’t the life I wanted... He glances up, eyes scanning the vibrant storefronts adorned with colorful banners. Laughter echoes from a nearby café. Katsuya’s expression darkens. KATSUYA (CONT'D) (sighs) Just a bit of freedom... Suddenly, he notices a HIGH SCHOOL GIRL (17, bright-eyed, with a cheerful smile) across the road, laughing with her friends. HIGH SCHOOL GIRL (giggling) Come on! You can’t be serious! Katsuya watches, a wistful look on his face. His gaze shifts to a LARGE TRUCK barreling down the street. KATSUYA (eyes widening) No! He sprints towards the road, heart pounding. KATSUYA (CONT'D) Hey! Get out of the way! The girl turns, confusion flickering in her eyes. The truck’s horn BLARES, a deafening sound. HIGH SCHOOL GIRL What? Katsuya reaches her just in time, pushing her aside. Everything goes BLACK. EXT. MYSTICAL LANDSCAPE - UNKNOWN Katsuya awakens in a serene meadow, sunlight filtering through the trees. He sits up, rubbing his head. KATSUYA (confused) Am I... dead? A shimmering figure appears before him. It’s the GODDESS OF DEATH AND REBIRTH (30s, ethereal beauty, dressed in flowing robes). GODDESS Not quite. You’ve been given another chance. Katsuya blinks, disbelief etched on his face. KATSUYA Another world? Why? GODDESS Your heart yearns for change, Katsuya. He looks down at himself—he’s now a TEENAGER with a handsome face, but something feels off. KATSUYA I’m... younger? And... handsome? GODDESS But remember, you start at Level One. CUT TO: EXT. MYSTICAL CITY - DAY Katsuya stumbles into a bustling medieval city filled with HUMANS, DEMIHUMANS, and STRANGE CREATURES. KATSUYA (grinning) This looks amazing! He walks the cobblestone streets, admiring the MAGICIAN juggling fire and MERCHANTS selling colorful wares. He approaches a sign that reads “ADVENTURE GUILD.” KATSUYA Finally, my chance! INT. ADVENTURE GUILD - DAY The GUILD HALL is lively, filled with ADVENTURERS boasting of their feats. Katsuya approaches the RECEPTIONIST (20s, a half-elf with pointed ears KATSUYA I want to join! RECEPTIONIST (raising an eyebrow) Level One? Katsuya’s face falls. KATSUYA Yeah, but— RECEPTIONIST Sorry, we only accept Level Twos and above. Katsuya’s shoulders slump. KATSUYA So, what do I do now? RECEPTIONIST Train. Get stronger. Frustrated, Katsuya steps outside. KATSUYA Train, huh? EXT. MYSTICAL FOREST - DAY Katsuya wanders into a tranquil forest, branches swaying gently. He plops down on a log, staring into the distance. KATSUYA (to himself) What am I supposed to do? Suddenly, a CRASH and SHOUTS from deeper in the woods break the peace. HUNTER 1 (O.S.) Get her! Don’t let her escape! Katsuya’s eyes widen. He rushes towards the noise. EXT. FOREST CLEARING - CONTINUOUS Katsuya arrives to see AKIRA (17, an elf with long silver hair, panicked) sprinting as a group of HUNTERS close in on her. AKIRA No! They are gonna catch me at this rate! Katsuya’s heart races. KATSUYA Stop! You can’t do this! The hunters turn, surprised. HUNTER 2 Look at this weakling! KATSUYA (stepping forward) I won’t let you hurt her! HUNTER 1 You think you can stop us? You’re Level One! KATSUYA I may be Level One, but I’m not afraid! HUNTER 2 Then you’ll regret this! They charge at him. Katsuya braces himself, adrenaline surging. KATSUYA I’m not backing down! As he prepares for impact, an unexpected energy surges through him. KATSUYA (CONT'D) What the...? The hunters freeze, their faces pale. Katsuya glows faintly, an aura surrounding him. AKIRA (wide-eyed) You... You can use magic? KATSUYA I... I think so? The hunters hesitate, fear creeping into their eyes. HUNTER 1 Retreat! They scatter, leaving Katsuya and Akira alone. AKIRA (breathless) You saved me. Katsuya turns to her, a smile breaking through his confusion. KATSUYA I just did what I had to do.
