Mr. Clyde.
hy, i'm new here. please show your support... “A lie can travel half the world while the truth is still putting on it's shoes” ⚪⚪⚪ Third person POV The door to Mr. James King's office whipped open startling him slightly. Mr. Richard Clyde walked in, a murderous look on his face. The secretary hurried in after the man apologising to his boss repeatedly. She truly had not meant to let him in without an appointment but he pushed his way in. The man's strength was nowhere close to hers. Mr king dismissed the secretary with a flick of his hand. She scrambled out of the office as fast as she had come in. "How dare you!" Mr Clyde yelled on top of his lungs. His dead green eyes seemed to sharpen his glare with every passing second. "Calm down Mr Clyde. I don't know what you are talking about. So please explain." Mr. King said calmly with an eyebrow raised in question. Realising how unprofessional he had acted, Mr Clyde took deep breaths to calm himself and threw the contract papers on Mr King's *wooden* desk. He proceeded to unbutton his coat jacket frustrated in a bid to calm his anger. Mr King took the contract papers on his desk and his face seemed to pale as he read the part which had been in front and copies of some receipts. "H- how wha- what?" He spluttered. He couldn't possibly understand how this had come to happen. He had always been so careful with his contracts. Double checking on every little detail to make sure nothing was out of order. As he raised his eyes from the papers to Mr Clyde's angry face, he swallowed audibly and said, "I don't understand." The look of disbelief crossed Mr Clyde's face before it settled to it's usual glare, "let me explain it to you. During the Kelpin deal, your company overcharged my company. Fifty million dollars more. Which part of that don't you understand?" He had raised his voice again which was laced with barely controlled rage. Mr King couldn't fathom it. How had this come to be? That didn't matter though he was inevitably going to loose his company. Not because of some measly fifty million dollars but because of the shame it would bring the King family. How would he explain his mistake to his sons? They had to find a solution. Especially with the coming transfer of the company to his eldest son. He couldn't afford to loose his other investors and customers trust. "Mr Clyde, I am not sure how this came to be but I can assure you that it will be corrected." "Of course it will be corrected, King," he spat out the word with so much disgust and disdain that James almost flinched. "I am going to sue you, let's see how you get out of this one." With that, he walked out and slammed the oak door. He was legitimately pissed. How could they try to dupe him. The Richard Clyde. They didn't know who they had messed with but he would make sure they knew. Back in the office where Clyde had come from, James was in shock. He could feel the company slipping out of his hands like sand. How was this going to be corrected without involving the public or court? He had to call his sons in and fast before everything went wrong. Logan King, burst through the door to his father's office a worried expression plastered on his face. He had rushed in immediately after hearing the stress and urgency in his father's voice. "What's wrong dad?" He questioned in his deep and heavy voice. "I messed up son. Really messed up." James said to his son with a guilty expression on his face. He couldn't even make eye contact with him. "Dad, what are you talking about what did you do?" Logan tried again only to be met with more silence. Just then the younger son entered, his expression mirroring his older brother's. "What's wrong? Who died?" He questioned in hopes of dissipating the tension in the air. "That is what I want to know too Arthur. Dad won't tell me exactly what he did except that 'he messed up'." Arthur let out an exaggerated gasp, "you have another family! I knew it!" He exclaimed. His brother glared at him. "What you were thinking it. I just said it." Logan just frowned and turned to his father, "that's not it. Right?" "Of course not! What is wrong with you two. I wish it was just that. This is much worse." He exclaimed, his face serious. "Then what is it dad. What did you do? I don't get it." Logan question mirroring his father's expression. He couldn't quite come to terms with the concept of his father 'messing up'. He had always been so careful and extremely cautious. A trait that Logan himself had inherited. James took a deep breath and exhaled it shakily. The tightening in his chest area increased but ignoring it, he proceeded. "Remember the Kelpin deal with Clyde industries I had done a month ago?" He questioned. The sons nodded in unison and he continued. "Well it turns out I overpriced it. Fifty million dollars more. I don't even know how it happened. I guess I didn't double check it. And now, he is suing us. If the other investors get a whiff of this, they could easily pull out and let's not mention our consumers. They would absolutely loose trust in us." As he finished the sentence, the tight knot in his chest expanded and turned into pain. He panted for breath as sweat trickled down his fore head. His sons were trying to call for him but he couldn't hear them. It was as if they were a mile away from him. He could hear ambulance sirens ringing through his ears and voices of people calling his name. Everything came out groggy and foggy. Darkness filled his vision as he succumbed to it. It was going to be a long night for the Kings.
