  “Murder?”   Alexander Barron gripped Summer Knight’s hand tightly—he hadn’t let go since they walked out of the hotel.   “Not enough evidence yet. They're still investigating, so it’s unclear whether it was murder or just an accident.”   Summer closed her eyes, trying to calm the storm brewing inside her.   “If I hadn’t stepped out to find you, I’d be the one splattered on the ground right now! Damn them.”   Her anger flared into a bitter laugh, and she squeezed Alexander’s hand even harder.   He had stepped out for a crucial call from the capital—something confidential and couldn’t be interrupted. And in that short window, everything changed.   Thinking of that, Alexander’s heart clenched. He pulled Summer into his arms, hugging her tightly, as if afraid she might disappear.   “
