Chapter 6: The Black Sheep

370 Words
Rosalina took a deep breath, her eyes locked on Damon's. "I grew up as the black sheep of my family," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "I never felt loved, never felt like I belonged." Damon's eyes filled with compassion, his hands tightening around hers. "I'm so sorry, Rosalina," he whispered. Rosalina shook her head, a small smile on her lips. "It's okay," she said. "I never gave up. I always kept moving forward, no matter how hard things got." Damon's eyes locked on hers, his face filled with admiration. "You're so strong, Rosalina," he said. "I don't know how you did it." Rosalina shrugged, her eyes dropping to the floor. "I just did what I had to do," she said. "I gave so much love out, but I never received it. I went through so much pain and suffering, but I got through it. By myself, mostly." Damon's hands tightened around hers, his eyes filled with emotion. "You're not alone anymore, Rosalina," he whispered. "I'm here for you, always." Rosalina's eyes locked on his, her heart filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Damon," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "That means everything to me." As they sat there, hands clasped together, Rosalina felt a sense of peace wash over her. She knew that she had found someone special in Damon, someone who would love and support her no matter what. "I was born in Ohio," Rosalina said, a small smile on her lips. "I grew up in a small town, surrounded by cornfields and cows." Damon chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I can picture it," he said. Rosalina laughed, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "It was a simple life," she said. "But it wasn't easy. My family was poor, and we struggled to make ends meet." Damon's eyes filled with compassion, his hands tightening around hers. "I'm so sorry, Rosalina," he whispered. Rosalina shook her head, a small smile on her lips. "It's okay," she said. "I'm not defined by my past. I'm defined by who I am today." Damon's eyes locked on hers, his face filled with admiration. "You're an amazing woman, Rosalina," he said. "I'm so lucky to have you in my life."
