04~ The Figure In The Dark. Writer✓ Bernard stood outside his home, thinking over his conversation with Sophia. Alpha Audrey. Moonlight pack. Silver Stone pack. Those names sound quite familiar to him. They are the very packs who had caused the attack which led to the disappearance of the young Alpha prince said to have died a long time ago. With Alpha Audrey back, there's got to be a reason why. And there's only one reason why he had come to the Silver Stone Pack. Gerek walked out of the house when he noticed his father wasn't in his room, so he decided to check on him outside since he found it a second habit of his after painting. He stood by the door, watching how deep in thought his father was. The moon did well to paint his image on the wall as an artwork dipped into dark paint, and the breeze though whistling quietly did nothing to stop the sweat that was forming around his body. He looked sad, he looked worried. Gerek tries not to read through his mind, he doesn't want to invade in his father's business, rather than doing that, he'd ask. "You look bothered," he said, bringing his father out of his imaginations. "What is bothering you?" He asked. Bernard heaved heavily, he turned to look at his son only to find out that he was twice as worried as he was. Gerek was the type of person who took people's burdens to himself, and he was ready to avenge for their sake if it was at his power to do so. Bernard wasn't ready to tell him the truth, at least not yet. If Gerek is to learn about his true identity, then every thing will turn to a mess, first, starting from Sophia. He won't hesitate to kill her in order to avenge her father's sin. "Don't worry, I am fine." He said with an assuring smile, which wasn't very convincing to Gerek. "I was only worried about the young girl, she looks innocent to face such an ugly fate." He knew getting to this point would make Gerek believe him since it has to do with the girl. "What do you intend to do to her?" Gerek asked, hoping he wasn't going to send her away the following day. "I have no idea for now. I was wondering if she could stay, but that's not me to decide. As soon as she wakes up, I will ask her and seek her opinion. From the looks on her face, I believe she is scared, the trauma is suppressing her greatly." He sighed. "What a fate." He decided not to keep a late night, he tapped Gerek by the shoulder. "Try not to think too much." He said, making his way to his room. Gerek thought as to why he had said that. He still wonders why his father was this bothered about the girl as much as he does. Why were they bothered about her in the first place? For the next hour, Gerek spent his time thinking, mentally searching for an answer to his unasked questions. Every thing about the girl seems to be enticing him, first, her scent. He couldn't comprehend why he had been too rational towards helping her the moment he heard her cry. He have heard a lot of people scream, bother far and near, and none of them seems to have warrant him to saving them, but hers seems to be different. Once again, those tears in her eyes seemed to have caught him in the very place he feared, the part which made him weak and nothing. He wasn't gonna let go of the thoughts as it has already become his permanent thinking. He was going to find his answers, not today, but some day. Could it be that she is related to him? Or was she some one important to him years ago? A part of his mind had this in thought, but on a second thinking, she can't be. She looks so young and innocent, and he could be three times older than she is. But one thing is for sure, she is some one special. He was going to leave the rest of the thought for another day. As much as he needed an answer, he needed a rest too. He shuts the door behind him, bolting it. Just as he headed to his room, he went to check on her. He quietly pushed the door open, she was sleeping soundly, her scent filled the atmosphere of the room. He glared at her innocent face, he has seen a lot of girls, but none is as beautiful as she is. He shuts the door close, making his way to his room. Who knew what tonight held? No one does but fate, and only time can tell what the future holds. Well, that's up to their fate to decide whether things will end up being the good things it has always been, or the bad which no one wishes for. The candle flickered as the wind blew in again as she heaved peacefully in her sleep, Sophia turned and tossed but not fluttering her eyes. The unease she was feeling in her sleep was glaring to the peering eyes of the night that looked upon her and as she tossed and turned again heaving heavily, she slipped deeper to a conscious part of sleep, a Lucid dream. Her eyes fluttered open almost at the same time with a single beat from her heart, she glanced around at the new unknown place she found herself. Sophia stood up glancing around again at the wilderness in her dream - a garden filled with dead roses with a dead fig tree right in the middle of the field. She walks around carefully cautious of her steps, she could still see the breeze breathing against her neck and lifting her hair in mid -air before letting it rest again. "Hello?" Sophia called out into the absolute emptiness, and all she got back was echoes of her voice, filling her ears and racing down through her nerves to her heart as it pounded faster. "Hello?" She called again, engulfed in a bit of curiosity intermixed with an intriguing fear of the unknown. "Who is here?" Her voice echoed back . Sophia kept on calling as she walked through the path that led away from where she had found herself, hoping she could find someone to explain to her this madness she was feeling. Ahead she could see a well, a dry leaf rolled by her sore feet as she walked toward the well, perhaps she might water in it to quench her thirst and most probably wash down the bitterness that had started to form around her throat. The Well was as it was surrounded dry and without life. "Is this the other part of life?" Sophia asked no one in particular . "Or is it possible this was the underworld and I was dead?" She kept on probing herself as she walked away from the well and completely out of the garden far away from where she found herself. She slipped deeper into the unknown. "Sophia." A voice came out of nowhere stopping her right in her tracks. "Who is there?" She called out this time with a louder voice, perhaps there was hope for her at the end. "Sophia!" The voice called again. Sophia looks around to find out where the voice was coming from, perhaps it was her way out of this mystery. This maze. "Who are you to show yourself?" Sophia said, still looking around, she could feel the heavy presence of another entity like herself but it was well camouflaged and hidden from her sight. "I'm right behind you." Said the voice in a lesser tone which sounded more like a whisper. And when she had turned to look at the voice, she met a figure three times bigger than she was. Red eyes, perforated nose with two sword-like teeth staring down at her, right into her soul and the only thing her mind could think of is death. She froze like ice, trying to figure out what exactly she was staring at. But then, every thought shattered as his deep dark voice echoed in the silent wilderness. "Run!" A
