CHAPTER FIVE WRITER “Please don’t hurt me,” She pleaded going on her knees, and the beast walked towards her—with anger seething through him. “I said Run!” It growled, and that was it. Sophia didn’t know how she managed to get the strength, as she ran— The beast gave her a hot chase, but she kept screaming loudly as she ran—hoping her savior would appear. After a while—she didn’t find the beast again, and she kept on panting as loud as she could. That was it— She woke up from her nightmare panting really hard, but she was shocked to see Bernard and Gerek staring at her worriedly. She flickered her eyes consciously, as she looked around and made notice of her environment. She breathed deeply and sighed a sigh of relief. “Good morning,” She said, noticing it was daybreak— “How was your night?” Bernard asked, but Gerek seemed to know the exact nightmare she had. “It was bad,” She groaned, and sighed deeply. “I saw it—An enormous beast,” She was saying, and Bernard’s eyes widened in shock. “Be...beast?!” He couldn’t believe his ears, and she nodded...but Gerek seemed lost in his own world too. He began to ponder over the same question he thought about last night, “How could she dream about a Beast?” He asked himself in surprise as he stared at her. He was in his room earlier, when he heard her screams— Like she was pleading or something, and it wasn’t so long he entered that Bernard walked in. Bernard suddenly cleared his throat, with the aim to get both the attention of Gerek and that of Sophia. “Sorry about that,” He said slowly, not wishing to say anything else. Everything was happening so fast—so fast that he couldn’t think straight. It was just that he still needed to find out a lot of things, so he would clear himself the doubts—before opening up to Gerek. “Well, I’d wanted to ask you—would you like to spend time with us here, prior till when you want to leave?” Bernard asked, and a light smile appeared on her lips. She was worried on where she’d go from there, and that was why she slept late. So hearing this from Bernard went a long way in putting a genuine smile on her face. “Thanks you so much sir,” She said gratefully. She stole a glance at Gerek, and noticed that he was staring at her deeply. She shied away her face in embarrassment, as she wondered why he was staring at her like that..... “I’ll go and get you some clothes,” Bernard said and left after glancing at them for the second time. “Well, why don’t I show you around?” Gerek said with a smile, and a light smile appeared on her lips. “Let’s go,” She said, standing up. Gerek just wanted to do anything that will divert her attention from the nightmare she had— something that will put a smile on her face. Slowly, they walked out of the house—after bolting it behind them. Gerek stared at her with mixed feelings—he was proud of how strong she looked despite everything she was facing, but he was still confused on why he felt that way towards her of all girls. This is the first girl that he was ever gotten close to, or has ever felt her pain and it has made him confused the more. She had gone through a lot, and somehow—Gerek has wished if it was possible so they could share the burden between them. As they walked through the forest, nobody talked to themselves.... They were both lost in their thoughts, that none of them was conscious of their surrounding..... Sophia’s mind was filled with the thoughts of her family, her pack and everything she held so dear in that place. She somehow wished that her parents were still alive and that nothing should happen to them till they see again. While Gerek’s mind was filled with confusion—he was confused on who Sophia was and why she had to go through what she went through. She cleared her throat, getting Gerek’s attention— “I can’t believe you brought me out here to bore me the more?” She glared at him jokingly and he chuckled loudly... “I’m sorry, I was just thinking of some things—but I’m done,” Gerek said and stretched forth his hand for her to take it which she did without further hesitation, but she withdrew it as quickly as possible. She gazed at Gerek who stared at her with shocked eyes, “Did you also feel it?” He asked, and she nodded making him gasp in shock. “I also did,” He said, more like in a whisper. Sophia became confused that very moment..... There were sparks the moment their hands met—but this time, it was more than the last time. The spark was so strong that they both felt that they were getting electrocuted.... “What’s going on?” Gerek thought, and glanced at himself. He was shocked that the thing was coming from him too, else he’d have thought that Sophia was the problem here— “I’ll ask Bernard when we get home,” Gerek said to Sophia and she nodded. As they turned and made to leave, Sophia began perceiving strange scents around them that confused Gerek. “We need to leave!” She said quickly but he calmed her down instead. “There’s no danger here, we are all safe!” He said, but she shook her head rapidly. “Believe me, we are getting surrounded!” She tried to explain, but this time—he held her shoulder and calmed her down. She also began to feel strange.....but she knew that Gerek wouldn’t listen. Her wolf growled loudly, and Gerek faced her with a look of ‘what’s happening?’ She shrugged and made it talk when they suddenly glanced around, and their eyes widened in shock! Sophia’s feeling came to pass! and Gerek was still as confused as ever—wondering why they came and who they came for. They were fully surrounded— Not by humans, but by werewolves!!!!!
