6 Settling in

6 Settling in When Vin wakes this time she is thankful that she can roam a room freely. It is a more private dungeon cell than she was in previously. It is a humble room, but still of higher quality than anything she has ever owned. There is a small thin mattress on the floor, a toilet, a shower head, and a drinking fountain. A small pile of folded linens rests on the foot of her bed. A thin window allows for light to enter the room. A small improvement. A large, loose cotton gown flows down beneath her knees. It might have fit a werewolf woman, but on her human body, it swallowed the curves of her hips. Kye enters the door scraping against the floor to announce his intrusion. "Shower. And then eat." He places a meal of carrots, bread, cheese, and water on my nightstand. "I will watch you shower and then I will watch you take the pills. Make sure you swallow." His eyes are still hard. Vin pauses with confusion at his change from the other day, but moves. She stands gingerly to get off the mattress and pulls the gown over her head, her back turned to the Kye. Sure, he had seen her naked and felt the most intimate spaces of her, but now he was cold and hard. Vin avoids making eye contact as she turns on the warm shower and rubs the dried body fluids from her legs. The shower actually begins to feel really nice. Being clean, even without soap, makes Vin feel much better. Vin bends down to rub water over her legs. Cuts up to her knees remind her of her running in the forest and her introduction to Kye. She pauses when she feels pressure inside of her. Curious, she reaches her fingers into her v****a to feel what is in there. "That stays in." Kye’s stern voice echoes in the small room. She startles at his words. Leave what in exactly?! Her eyes glance at him, but she decided it best to not ask the question. It never goes well to question a wolf. She finishes rinsing. There is no soap so it's just water and hand friction. Kye hands her a towel. The kind gesture is a contrast to his recent change in demeanor. Vin grabs the towel cautiously, dries off her body, and replaces the large cotton dress. “I did not have any human clothes. This will have to do for now.” His voice is softer. Perhaps he feels guilty for yelling before. Vin doesn’t speak but nods. He hands her a cup of water. Instead of letting her drink it freely, he tilts her head slightly back and brings the cup to her mouth. As she drinks his thumb caresses her lips. He catches himself. "Eat." He commands and turns swiftly leaving Vin alone and confused. Vin obeys. It has been a few days since she had anything decent to eat, and the hunger and anxiety made her empty stomach ache. She eats every bit of food on the plate, takes the pills, and finishes the cup of water. She places the plate near the door. With nothing left to do, Vin crawls back onto the mat and falls asleep. - I am nine years old. The sun is warm and the grass is high as I chase a friend. We are laughing. The grass tickles my hands. My friend throws a ball at me and we take turns tossing it back and forth. It's a dirty ball, the seams are slightly worn from years of play, but we love it. Loud noises from our house cause us both to turn towards the sound. I see our parents running towards us, shouts of "DAYBREAKERS!" VAMPIRES!" and alarmed cries pull us from our play. My neighbor gets to me first, swapping me up and running with me. I see my parents behind and I reach for them. I hear the snarl of a vampire and my neighbor covers my head. - After leaving the room, Kye presses his back into the wall. Vin was not the first human he caught for Aleric. Vin was not the first human he was charged with protecting. But she was the first one to draw him in so deeply. He could smell her scent filling the room and the halls. He recalled how she felt in his arms, and his heart ached in memory. He remembered how Aleric filled her, and his head began to cloud. Somehow, Vin was the only thing he could see. Her moans filled his ears and had followed him all night. He remembered how Aleric's c**k had twitched inside Vin as she ground against him. And when she looked back at Kye, still rocking her hips against Aleric's post-orgasmic sensitivity - Kye hit his hand against the wall. He wanted to make her moan again. He wanted to feel her against him again. But that was not his place. He was a guardian. A hunter. She belonged to Aleric. He tried to keep her from his mind. Her scent. Her energy. Her body. He felt so weak around her. The wolves had all murmured in approval of Aleric's performance to claim his newest human. Vin, you will make me a broken man. The sound of Alerics feet echoing down the hall broke Kye from his memory. He straightened up as Aleric rounded the corner. “Kye, how is my human?” Aleric asks, looking to the door, but then dusting a wrinkle from Kye’s shirt. “She is resting. She has eaten, and taken a shower.” Kye kept his voice even and detached. “Did you get her ready for me again?” Aleric grinned. “My friend, I was going to give her more time.”
