7 My Wolf Guardian
“No. She is resting.” Kye reaches his arm slightly, protectively to bar Aleric from entering.
Aleric's lips purse. Kye was the only one who could ever dare tell Aleric no to anything.
They had grown up together. Aleric’s parents were the ones who overthrew the human governments 100 years ago. Kye was an orphan, and his parents died in the conflict. He was taken in and they were raised as brothers.
But Aleric liked to tease Kye. He liked to play games with Kye. Subtle games. Games that he knew would torment Kye. Kye would tell him no, but he would pay for it.
“Very well. My room is ready for her. Please bring her there and make sure she is well-situated and secure. I do have some pack meetings today, and I will not be in until late, I am afraid. Feel free to keep her company so that she is not lonely in my absence.” Aleric pauses, remembering to add one more request. “And Kye, make sure she is untouched. By anyone.”
Kye carefully keeps his expression neutral. “Of course, Aleric.” His lowered head gives Aleric the submissiveness he desires, and Aleric turns to take his leave.
Kye turns back to the room to find a peacefully sleeping Vin on the mattress.
She stirs slightly as he picks her up and holds her to his chest. Her breathing is calm, but her cheeks are still pink.
Were they always like that? He walks carefully with her, trying to break her sleep, letting her stay in whatever peace she found in her dreams.
He fought the urge to kiss her. He ached to caress her cheek, to hold her breast, to -
He sets his jaw. He could not let Aleric torment him so. He nudges the door to Aleric’s room open with his foot.
The creaking door was enough to wake Vin. Kye glances down to see her meeting his eyes, still tired. “Would you like to still rest, Vin?” he asks softly.
His changing moods confuse Vin. Is he kind or cold? She was never sure which side she would get. Her eyes traced the lines of the room.
The room is huge - arched ceilings, gold lines, detailed paintings, luxurious details. A large bed is centered against a wall. A large arch doorway to the side presumably led to the bathing area.
She stiffens in his arms - trying to measure his mood- but eventually replies. “Yes, please.” Between work, being chased, being terrified, having multiple orgasms, the fatigue she felt still ran deep.
Aleric’s bed was thick and soft. Vin had never felt anything like it - even cleaning the Beta’s house. Kye pulls the blankets up to her chin, and then lays next to her above the covers. His hand strokes her hair. Her eyes felt heavy.
“You are safe, Vin - my little rabbit,” Kye says as he gently strokes her hair.
“No, No Kye. I am not safe.” Her words are quiet, as she falls back to sleep.
-
Vin wakes to find herself in the arms of Kye. He has her pressed to him. She realizes Kye’s hand is stroking her cheek, wiping away tears she didn’t know she had cried.
“The attendants have brought you some human clothing, and more food if you are hungry.” Kye pulls away gently.
Vin shifts in the bed, sitting up and pulling the blankets to cover her body. Her hands brush against her sore n*****s and she hisses. That’s right. Aleric had enjoyed those quite energetically the other night. Finally rested, she was acutely aware of every part of her body that was sore.
Kye moves to stand in front of her, offering her new clothing. Vin glances up at him, but his eyes are glued to a high corner of the room to avoid looking at her. It is early afternoon, and the large window behind him gives him a warm orange glow.
He could look beautiful.
“You can wear this for now. There are other clothing options you may like in the dresser over there.” His head gestures towards a corner without glancing down at her. She takes the offered clothing and slowly begins to change her clothing.
Once dressed, Vin notes the plate of food. Carrots, apples, dried meats, breads, cheeses, and a small cake. The helpings are generous this time. She slides into a chair.
“Are all werewolf meals this big?” The meals at the Beta’s house were huge. She herself had never been given anything so large. Most humans - herself included - tried to keep meals light so it wouldn’t weigh them down if they had to run.
She wasn’t going to be able to run anywhere from the heart of the castle.
“Yes.” His voice is back to being hard and stiff. Werewolves were twice the size of humans at least, and their bodies were more densely packed with muscle. Vin supposed that this caused them to need more food.
Vin starts to eat her food. It seems to make him relax.
“Kye, what are you to me? Are you my guard?” She asks, and then takes a bite of carrot, allowing for a pause.
“Essentially. I am here to protect you.” Kye is standing across the table from her.
“Protect me from what?” Vin asked.
“I am to protect you from other wolves. I am to protect you from Aleric.” He keeps his voice even.
“Aleric? Why would you protect me from him?” Uncertainty brews in her core, questions and implications run through her mind.
“Aleric loves humans. However… he is sometimes a little rough. He can forget how soft humans are. I am to make sure he does not get carried away and hurt you in a permanent manner.”
“Are you just going to stand there and watch me until Aleric comes back?” She asks, unnerved by his towering presence.
“Yes.” Ughh.
“And as he… has s*x with me? Will you just watch him?”
He nods.
