Whispers echoed in the room. Everyone talking about the prince of Lavena. Prince Aldrin became the center of conversation at all tables. "You are popular," Princess Sofia commented. "How ever will you select your lovely princess from the lot," she teased. Prince Aldrin scanned the room. His eyes examined the girls in detail. His eyes tarried when his gaze landed on Jhessail. He brushed his finger on his lip, the kiss replaying in his mind. "It will be hard but I must perform my duty," he claimed. Noticing his blazing gaze, Jhessail raised her eyes and met his. Aldrin licked his lips suggestively at her. Jhessail chocked. Prince Aldrin cleared his throat. Averting his gaze and turned to his mother. "You look gorgeous today," he complimented. "I look good every day," the Queen confidently said. "However, I am curious. Who is it that turned my son on to the point that he exploded his pheromones in the manicured corridors of this beautiful hotel?" she asked. Jian shot Aldrin a shocked look. His eyes wandered the room and landed on Jhessail. 'It can't be,' he internally denied. There was no way the crown prince would fall for an average girl like her. Prince Aldrin leaned close to his mother. "Aren't you curious," he let out with no intention to give her an answer. "I'll find out sooner or later," the Queen assured him. "Oh, I'm scared," the prince mouthed to her feigning fear. "What's your ideal type..." "I'd love to sit here and chat with all of you about my tastes but I'm supposed to mingle with the girls. Excuse me," he escaped the curiosity of his mother and sister. They were too much for him to handle, not when he could spend that time having fun at his party. He picked up two glasses of wine from the table. Jian got up and shadowed him. "That was you?" he asked. "I'm afraid I can neither admit nor deny the claims," Prince Aldrin smiled and nodded nicely to the girls as he walked passed them. He sauntered to the far end of the room. Making a halt at Jhessail's table. All eyes focused on him and his right-hand person, Jian. Jhessail nervously shifted in her seat. Her heart beat faster at the prince's presence. She couldn't control her slowed breathing which was a result of the butterflies in her stomach. "May I sit here?" he requested. Taking a seat without giving Jhessail, Yoli, and Thea a chance to respond. He passed one of the glasses in his hand to Jhessail. "Hello, kitty," he greeted. Jhessail froze. Someone clicked the pause button on her, as she became motionless. Unable to speak or think of how to handle the situation that arose. "Your lips looked a bit dry from where I was. I thought wine might help," he waved the glass of wine in Jhessail's visage. Yoli and Thea didn't know how to react. They were just talking about the unreachable, unattainable prince and there he was at their table. Talking to Jhessail like they had been friends for ages. They both glanced over to Jhessail. They had a million questions for her. Inquiries about the crown prince and her relationship with him. "My l..lips are fine," Jhessail struggled to let out. Prince Aldrin bit his lip to hold back a laugh. She was so cute when she got shy. It was his favorite reaction. Aldrin slanted his head a bit next to her ear. "Perhaps I went a bit too far with the kiss," he lowered his voice. His tone with a hint of seriousness and flirty. "Next time I won't go overboard," he assured. Hic! Jhessail hiccuped. 'Next time? Does he plan to kiss me again?' thoughts raced in her mind. She felt his hand on her lap. Her breath hitched. Her heart started beating fast again. Reacting to him rubbing his fingers over her thigh. Aldrin adjusts his leg. He sat so close that his leg was touching hers. Jhessail drew a sharp breath. Feeling anxious and shy. Causing her to shiver. All the while, Aldrin continued to run his fingers on her thigh. Hic! Hic! The hiccups got worse by the minute. Jhessail swallowed the lump in her throat. Unable to shake off the warm feeling coursing through her. The prince affected her in ways she never knew possible. Ways she didn't think she'd experience on that night. "Your majesty, may I have the honor of joining in on the table," a young girl slightly taller than Jhessail approached the table. "I'm Sosha De Marte, of Wolfheart pack," she introduced herself and curtsied with class and grace. Jhessail ran her eyes over Sosha's body from head to toe. Like her, the girl wore a dress that hugged her body. Displaying her hourglass body shape to anyone with eyes. Jhessail glanced down at her body. She felt chilly. Her body didn't hold a candle to Sosha's perfect figure. Her facial features were ordinary as compared to Sosha whose beauty far exceeded that of most of the girls their age. She felt threatened. Like she would disappear as a background character in the love story between Sosha and Prince Aldrin. "It's a free city," Aldrin squeezed Jhessail's thigh gently after sensing her uneasiness. He saw covetousness in Jhessail's eyes directed at Ms. Sosha De Marte. It took him a moment to understand the worries that crisscrossed Jhessail's mind. Sosha took a seat next to the prince. "Something was eating at my mind, Your Majesty. Is it okay if I ask what kind of girl you are searching for tonight," Sosha raised a question. Being direct and straightforward. Everyone became silent in anticipation of Aldrin's answer. Jhessail grew anxious. Any moment she expected the prince to announce that he liked girls like Sosha. A truth that would devastate her teenage heart and crush it under Sosha's polished heels. "I like girls that touch my heart. If I ran into someone like that tonight, I won't let them go," Aldrin answered. He leaned close to Jhessail and whispered, "Will you touch my heart, or is only my torso you find scrumptious?" Jhessail swallowed saliva greedily. Her heart was stuck in her throat, the Prince was provoking a roller coaster of emotions inside her body. The feelings were overwhelming to her. Her face heated up. She was blushing like a mad woman. Unable to control the heat in her body. Jhessail wished the earth would open up and swallow her whole before Aldrin gave her a heart attack. "Give me an answer, little kitten," Aldrin drew circles on Jhessail's skin, getting a thrill from her reaction. "Raise your hands if you've ever been kissed before," Aldrin raised a dare to the group at the table. Jhessail tensed. Up until that night, she could have raised her hand to that dare. But alas, the tides had changed and the prince stole her first kiss while she was in a trance.
