Longing for regret

It is afternoon and the day is still fuming with heat, it's about one in the afternoon and Greg is just getting home from a philosophy lecture, seemingly frustrated by the heat of the day and pangs of hunger he storms into the house, some what hurriedly rather than angryly, it seems like Greg had his priorities, he headed straight for the toilet instead of the kitchen. Seems like those rumbles were signs to relieve my self; he thought to himself, he sat rushed to sit on the toilet, as though he was about to miss a flight; a sigh of relief followed after he made a few drops. He got up and cleaned up him self as though he was about to be inspected, the toilet was flushed and he left the bathroom with a little sense of achievement, as there was a slight grin on his face after coming out the bathroom, perhaps the feeling of relieve can make one feel at ease. Greg now felt empty and decided it was now time for his lunch, he usually made his meals himself and is alone most times, Ava, Greg's mum is a journalist and is at work most times and usually has little to no time to spend at home, she is mostly at home at the weekends but still goes to work on some of those weekends, his father Daniel or as he is normally referred to, Mr.Crane, on the other hand works with the government, and has to travel most of the time, he is hardly around due to activities tied to work and is regularly absent at home, although he stops by the house anytime he passes through the town, this absence caused a particular strain in the relationship between father and son, this strain although mostly not noticed by anyone but Greg showed that those regular visits by Daniel weren't enough to to build connection between the two, this also owes to the fact that Greg has become used to physical abuse, right from his childhood, he had been treated like a man when it came to discipline, a child who would face wrath at any slight wrong. Greg was finally becoming wiser, gradually becoming a full adult each day he decide to let all that hate go, all the anger, the grieve, the strife, although he was constantly reminded of how incompetent and lazy he was, Greg had not taken his education seriously from the start, he was currently in his last year of college and still hadn't seen most of his results, this was one of the source of problems for Greg as this was a cause turmoil any time the family was together, concerns over his results were often raised which often led to arguments, anger and then the final stage of any abuse, violence. All this was a result of a rushed decision and pressure put on Greg to get into college immediately after highschool, this made him feel reluctant but compliant as he did not have any alternative when it came to doing what his father said. He began college out of compulsion as he had other plans which he hoped to actualize before they were halted by his father's authority. All that didn't matter to him right now, he was already in the kitchen, pacing, thinking of what to make for lunch, little things like this tends to stress a man out, ahaaa! He exclaimed; he had finally decided in one minute to make some potatoes and omelets after use five to decide. Almost in a haste, he brought out the pan and began heating the oil, getting ready to prepare lunch, that was what mattered the most to him at the moment.
