Chapter 6

"I can't believe it! How could a geeky guy like you catch such a big turkey? Admit it, if you took the turkey when it was already a carcass!" Jerry's voice was loud with a dismissive tone.

Ronald grunted harshly to contain his anger. "Yes, why? I picked up the carcass on purpose so you wouldn't eat it."

Ronald continued washing the turkey while occasionally glancing at Audrey, who had been silent. Suddenly in his mind, he guessed the girl's expression if he wanted the animal he was holding.

Without thinking, he immediately shouted, "Come here, Audrey! Help me wash this turkey and cook it!"

Audrey's eyes rounded at once. She looked surprised, "Me? Aren't you angry with me about what happened earlier?"

Audrey started to walk away but hesitantly.

"Of course not. Come here!" Ronald answered quickly.

When Audrey had arrived, Ronald glanced at Rose and Jerry. He accidentally caught their expressions looking strange. He was sure that they also wanted the turkey.

Seeing that made Ronald have other thoughts. He asked again, "Audrey, this turkey looks young. The meat must be tender, not too fishy and, of course, very delicious. This will be a special meal for both of us."

Ronald deliberately exaggerated his catch just to lure Rose and Jerry to be more tempted. In fact, by all appearances, the turkey was old. There might even be a special way to cook it to make it tender.

His words were not in vain. Now Rose and Jerry just stared at the turkey he was holding while swallowing.

But after that, Jerry's mouth unconsciously gaped and drooled continuously.

For Ronald, it was a show that was both exciting and embarrassing. He didn't want to miss the moment. His gaze shifted to Rose and said, "Rose, don't you realize that your lover is pulling out something precious?"

Instantly, Rose's brow furrowed and she turned her head towards Jerry. She was shocked to see a lot of yellow-colored saliva flowing out of Jerry's mouth. To her, it was very disgusting, not to mention the stench. Realizing Jerry was daydreaming, she immediately threw a slap.

"Jerry, don't embarrass me! Quickly close your mouth and wash your saliva with water!" Rose snapped while covering her nose.

"Is there something wrong with me?" Jerry stuttered and quickly covered his mouth. When he realized what had happened, he quickly wiped his wet mouth and chin.

"I'm sorry, my beautiful Rose." Jerry tried to grab Rose's hand to persuade her, but his hand was immediately brushed away.

"Until you wash off your saliva with water, don't you dare touch me! No wonder I've been smelling an unpleasant odor! I thought it was from that turkey you thought was a carcass, but it was from your mouth!" Rose snapped at Jerry again, but in a harsher tone.

Ronald smiled in satisfaction seeing that. He did not forget to sprinkle some spices to add to the excitement. "Don't get angry, Rose! Jerry's saliva could be as valuable as a swallow's. You can collect it and use it. It's just that there's a slight difference. If the swallow's saliva can be used for cosmetics, maybe Jerry's saliva could be used to revive the victims of Jet Airlines!"

Jerry's eyes immediately turned red. The look on his face radiated great anger. He ran straight at Ronald. "Bastard! Just finding a turkey carcass, what's so great? You think that makes you a hero here? If that's the case, I can too!"

Ronald immediately stood up, and his right hand grabbed Jerry's shirt collar and gripped it. He used his left hand to punch the man in the stomach.

"Than you, just being a sissy and unreliable man! Real men give evidence not bullshit!" Ronald snapped loudly.

Jerry immediately retaliated by punching Ronald in the stomach with his remaining strength. "Asshole! From the beginning of our meeting here you've always been arrogant! You'll see, once I get my energy back, I'll make sure you kneel at my feet for help! You're just a weak man!"

Still not accepting being humiliated, Ronald delivered another fist. But this time it was right on Jerry's cheek until the man winced in pain.

Seeing the corner of Jerry's lips dripping blood, Rose couldn't bear to be with her lover. She quickly grabbed Jerry's hand and said, "Don't you go looking for trouble! I just told you to wipe your saliva off. Ronald's words are true. As long as we're here, you can't do anything, not even save yourself!" she snapped harshly.

"Why are you defending that useless man? Then I'll prove my worth to you, honey!" Jerry said a little sternly as he stroked Rose's windblown hair.

But Audrey brushed him off. "Jerry, I told you, don't touch me before your hands are clean! Your saliva smells like carrion! What exactly did you just eat?"

Jerry's face turned into a panic after getting that question from Rose. Actually, he had kept a shameful secret while stranded on the mountain. That's why he wanted to keep it close and was busy making excuses. After a while, he started to say nervously, "Me."

Before Jerry could continue, Ronald suddenly interrupted him. "If you two stand here for too long, you'll definitely cause my temper again. Get out of my way!"

Like a breath of fresh air, Jerry's face lit up. He turned to Ronald with a pleased expression. "Okay Ronald, we'll leave now."

Jerry immediately walked away excitedly. But Rose seemed to be lazily walking after him. They finally took cover behind a bush not far from Ronald and Audrey.

Now on the riverbank, Ronald and Audrey were ready to start burning the turkey. Ronald had previously prepared some twigs and dry leaves to make a fire.

Since the turkey was already old, he had learned how to cook it properly from his mother. As an only son, he was obliged to be independent of his parents in any case. Until finally, his parents died.

Deftly, Ronald picked fresh grass around him. After shaping it like a mountain, he put the turkey meat into it. Immediately he set it on fire.

While waiting for the meat to cook, Ronald looked at the small stream in front of him. He accidentally saw a small fish jumping around. He thought to himself, "I've been squatting by the river for so long, why did I only just realize that there was another delicious candidate?"

Without much thought, he immediately took off his shirt to make a net. However, just as he was about to carry out his plan, he suddenly heard someone calling for help.
