Chapter 1 The Perfect Life (Part 1)
Bella Moreno smoothed the fabric of her red dress for the third time, glancing at the mirror with a nervous smile.
Today was supposed to be perfect the day she officially became Daniel Ross’s fiancée She had spent months preparing for this moment, and with Samantha Grey
by her side, everything seemed flawless
Samantha’s voice broke through Bella’s thoughts
“Bella, you look stunning,” she said, adjusting her friend’s hair with a practiced hand. “Daniel won’t know what hit him.”
Bella laughed nervously, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear
“I just… I want today to be perfect, Sam. I can’t believe it’s finally happening.”
Samantha smiled, but there was
something fleeting in her expression a twitch of hesitation that Bella didn’t notice at the time
The hall outside the bridal suite was buzzing with excitement
Friends, family, and Daniel’s colleagues filled the room with laughter and chatter
Everything smelled of fresh flowers and sweet champagne
Bella’s heart raced, and for a moment, she allowed herself to believe in this perfect life
Then she saw him
Daniel Ross, tall and handsome, in a suit tailored to perfection, standing with his back to her near the balcony
He smiled, a warm smile that made her stomach flutter
Bella thought she was seeing everything right. Until she noticed the way his hand brushed against someone else’s
Samantha’s eyes widened as she followed Bella’s gaze
“Wait… is he?”
Bella felt her chest tighten. Her vision narrowed as she focused on the scene: Daniel leaning closer to… Samantha?
Her best friend
No
It couldn’t be.
Bella froze as whispers reached her ears. Laughter, soft and familiar too familiar. Her heart pounded.
She couldn’t believe it
Daniel’s head bent toward Samantha’s, his lips brushing against hers ever so slightly. The world seemed to collapse around Bella
The laughter of the party became distant, replaced by a roaring silence in her ears.
“Bella…” Samantha whispered behind her, but Bella didn’t hear her
All she could see was the betrayal unfolding before her
Every word, every smile, every promise she had believed in felt like a lie.
Her hands trembled. She wanted to run, to scream, to vanish into the crowd.
But before she could move, Samantha turned toward her, a wicked smile curling on her lips
“You didn’t think he’d ever choose you over me, did you?”
Bella’s world stopped
Her best friend her supposed sister in friendship had been part of this all along
Her perfect life, as she knew it, was gone.
And in that moment, with the sparkling chandelier above and the shocked gasps of the guests around her, Bella Moreno made a silent vow
They will pay
Every single one of them.
Her eyes met Daniel’s across the room.
For the first time, she saw the arrogance in his gaze, the betrayal in his smile And beneath it all, a flicker of fear fear of what was coming.
Bella turned sharply, walking out of the bridal suite
The hum of the party grew distant behind her, replaced by the steady thumping of her own heartbeat
One thing was clear this was not the end.
This was only the beginning.
And Bella Moreno was done being the victim.
