"Ice, you're early." - I said surprised, but my Mate was watching me suspiciously, which I didn't like.
"Answer me, Tamara! Why do you smell like a bear?" - he said in a low voice.
"Isn't it obvious? I saw one." - I said matter-of-factly doing my best to stay unbothered, even though my heart was a few steps from flying from my ribcage.
"Why? Where?" - he suddenly became really confused, visibly losing his anger. I think my confidence took him off guard, that's good. But since he already sensed Chad there was no point in denying that I saw him.
"He wandered on my lands a while back and we got into agreement that for some food he will guard my borders till the snow melts and he will be able to go further North."
