The Autumn

It’s autumn, and the king decided to hunt in the center of the forest. After a few minutes of riding on his horse, he finally reached the forest’s entrance. He and his knights left their horse tied on the trees and started their hunt. He chooses to hunt in a different direction away from his men; He reaches the center of the forest, the sound of a broken twig catches his attention, and he positions himself to attack. But, it was different from what he thought. He saw a beautiful girl filling her basket with dry leaves and flowers; he was mesmerized by her beauty. He watched her till she finished picking up what she needed, and it was already dark. The king was interrupted by one of his men and stated that they already needed to leave the forest as soon as possible because it was getting dark. Suddenly the girl shouted. “Is somebody’s there!?” The king was stunned by the girl's voice, and it was like a piece of music in his ears. “Come out!” The girl stated. But the king didn’t come out, the girl ran as fast as she could, and the king didn’t bother to follow her because it was getting dark already. Rumors say five princes entered this forest for a race, and then they never saw again. They came from the most famous clans from different countries, and the race was just for fun, but the fun was replaced by sadness and fear. At the palace, the king can’t forget the girl he saw. He asked himself, “what is she doing in that forest, alone?” Or “what is her name” “? Can I see her again?” Many questions are run through his mind, but he can’t find answers. But, one question can’t leave his mind. “Did I already see her somewhere? Why she’s so familiar?” Then his head was aching in so much pain he had never felt this kind of pain before until he fainted and lost consciousness. On the other hand, one of his cooks saw him before falling to the ground. She shouted like her lungs would come out to ask for help. The guards rush to the big dining room to help. They lifted the king and placed him in his room to rest. “Cleviara, Where are you, my love!? If I found you, we’ll make a baby in an instant!” The guy shouted; he was looking for his wife, who was now hiding in their closet. He knew where she was, but he liked playing with his wife; they lived in the forest away from the people in town. They were talking about his wife, who killed an innocent child near the cliff, but the truth is she was trying to help the suicidal kid. But it was too late. The real reason why the child did that is his mother. His mother saw everything and blamed my wife and said to everyone that my wife killed the child, but then the judgment came, and they found that my wife was not guilty at all. They looked for evidence, but the mother couldn’t show anything, only her words. Time passed, and we decided to live far from them.“Come and get me, my love!” She giggled. He walked near the closet and was about to open it, but a sudden knock interrupted them. He opened the door, and a councilors guard gave him a note. The note says. “Mr. Evergreen, you are invited to the judgment hall; we found your wife dead hanging in the middle of the town. The council” His hands were shaking in fear; he rushed to their closet and opened it. No one was there; he came back to the door and talked to them “b-but my wife, she’s in here a minute ago b-before you c-came how could i-it be!?” He cried in front of the two men. But then they replied. “I’m sorry, sir, but your wife is dead; the people saw her hanging in the central plaza on the town. They are still investigating the reason, but you must see her first, sir.” That’s all the men in blue uniform said. And made their way to leave, he didn’t believe them. But, his wife appeared from their kitchen and said: “Go, my love, I’m so sorry for leaving you this early, but before I leave, can you promise me that you’ll give me the justice I wanted?” She hugged him and whispered to his ear, “I love you, my love..” and then she disappeared. He cried; he didn’t know what to do or how this happened. They were happy yesterday, but how could this happened. He made his way to the judgment hall and found the head council. He bowed, and the head nodded; he started to cry while asking. “Your highness w-what happened?” He stutters. The head replied. “As of now, Mr. Evergreen, we are still investigating what happened. Do you have any idea how is this possible she killed herself?” He asked. “Yesterday was a normal day for the both of us; we finished our work and headed home to rest. Nothings wrong yesterday,” he cried again, and the head felt pity for him Like he knew something. Then the head said, “Your Mr. Connor Evergreen is arrested for killing your wife; guards get him!” The head said, and the guards instantly caught him. He looked into the head's eyes, but he just looked away and didn’t say anything. They tortured him till he passed out. “Your highness, wake up! Wake up!” Someone was waking him. He instantly opened his eyes and looked at the girl who woke him up. “Your highness, you passed out last time, and you’re dreaming. That’s why I wake you up,” she said. “L-last time?” He asked. And the girl nodded. “It’s been five days since you passed out, your highness,” she replied. The king didn’t know what happened before he passed out, but he remembered only his dreams. It felt like it had already happened before.
