Chapter 12 Finding faith in Big Bruno

Waking up next to a warm furry body little Bruno almost forgot he didn’t have his mother with him as he snuggled closer.Both of them being warm never of them moving for some time. And then time to get up and find some food the two stretched and moved out of the den and feeling the son for the day. Seeing the strawberry patch the two finished off all of the strawberries and started on their way coming to a large fast moving river. And little Bruno remember what happened the last time he was in a river that took him away from his mother. He got scared and backed up slowly knowing he couldn’t get across such a fast moving body of water. Big Bruno told the small cub to stay there for a bit he would go and scout around for a safe way to cross. Big Bruno walked down the river looking for away to cross and sure enough he came to a large died tree that had fallen across the river.
Big Bruno went back and found little Bruno still shaking and large tears welling up in his eyes as he shivered in fright. Okay I found a place to cross the river it’s a large died tree that has fallen across the river. It’s safer than trying to go in the fast moving water ok son big Bruno told the scared little cub. He put his paw around the frightened little cub and told him he could do this he just had to be brave. Moving slowly toward the area where big Bruno found the died tree. You have been through a lot while you have been looking for your mother this little died tree will be a piece of cake. Coming up to the tree big Bruno lifted little Bruno up by the back of his scruff and put him onto the top of the fallen tree. And told him to start crossing the tree slowly holding on with his claws. So the little cub done as he was told making sure he didn’t hit the fast moving water below. Taking his time trying to move around the limbs little Bruno slipped but recovered holding on for dear life seeing the current moving faster now. Getting his composure not realizing big Bruno was right behind him watching every move. Half way to the other side the cub reached over the next limb. Trying to move slowly but still keep his grip. This next limb was large and he could feel himself slipping but he felt big Bruno with a paw pulling him straight back to the tree. And then seeing land little Bruno jump for the grass. As he turned to watch big Bruno trying to slip passed the same branch that almost put him in the water. Watching and hoping that big Bruno wouldn’t fall the large bear with his claws grabbed the other side of that limb and pulled himself around and then jumped to safety as little Bruno watched and cheered his safe crossing. Moving on trying to make great timing so they could get their weather fat on and all stored up before hibernation. Moving toward a valley with a riven. Little Bruno got to thinking about why they had to move to a different feeding ground and different place to sleep. He asked big Bruno and big Bruno asked him if he noticed all the bears feeding at the river and little Bruno thought about it and has he had never thought about it before but yes their where lots of bears there. All of those bears head in different directions to find there winter place to store up fat so they can sleep all winter and wake up ready for the next year. Some of the toughest bears don’t make it til the next year for many different reasons so I hope I am teaching you so you can be strong. Okay little Bruno said and thanked big Bruno for all of his patience and help.
Finding some corn and vegetables the bears ate and moved on through that area as big Bruno thought he smelled some human tracks and told little Bruno to never trust humans they will try to feed and and then turn around and kill them so never ever trust humans because they are dangerous to bears. The two of them had a big day of walking and talking with one to many adventures little bear was ready for a nap but knew they had to keep traveling. Walking into a pasture with daisies and bumblebees everywhere big Bruno tried to tell little Bruno to leave the bears alone but he couldn’t help himself. Little Bruno started jumping around playing with the bees not realizing the bees were gathering pollen and not playing little Bruno got just about every bee in the pasture stirred up. Big Bruno just kept walking and watching little Bruno knowing what was going to happen. The bees started gathering around little Bruno like a small umbrella just hovering over him. Little Bruno swatted at one of the bees and he next thing and before anyone could move little Bruno got a sting right on the nose. And he jumped running pass big Bruno to a stream and put his poor pain quenched nose. Big Bruno was laughing so hard tears were coming from his eyes. Getting to little Bruno and seeing a nose three times the normal size big Bruno told him to put some of the mad from the stream on his nose. Little Bruno was ready to try anything to stop the pain the cool mud helped some. As big Bruno said son when I tell you not to do something it’s for your own good. That poor bear was going to be feeling that sting for along time.
Poor little Bruno looked like he had another large nose growing out of his original nose it was a sight to behold. Coming to a mountain the two started to climb the mountain side walking over traveling up to the top. It was getting later and the two not being hungry decided to find a place to sleep a dark bank was right there as they moved in to check it out the next thing they knew was.
