Chapter 13 Whose eyes are those..

Looking into the dark with Big Bruno growling a voice hissed why are you growling at me I was here first a voice came from the dark. Big Bruno said come out and we will tell why we are growling. The eyes slowly emerged from the dark it was that angry badger after I lost my mother he was angry I came out bro his home. The badger said his name was Oscar the badger and he lost his home in the last storm and has been looking for a new home. Little Bruno bear asked why he was so angry? The badger said all badgers are angry we hate everyone it’s the badger way. The badger asked what happened to Bruno’s face and he told him about being stung by a bee. As the badger laughed and laughed about the silly cub. He found some water and and little bit of mad from the cave and told Little Bruno to put it on his nose. Little Bruno thanked Oscar and let the badger cake the mud on his nose and sure enough it helped and the swelling started to go down. Oscar slept on one side of the cave while big Bruno and little Bruno slept on the other side of the cave. Oscar told little Bruno a story about when he was little. Being a small badger with small claws and the cutest little dimples a badger could have his told The little cub. As one of the smallest of my family I had to fight my siblings for every meal being such a tiny runt. Wow little Bruno said you where a runt!! Yes Oscar said it made we tough I was out with my mom on her back and one of my brothers hit me and I fell off. I tried yelling to mom for help but I was so tiny she couldn’t hear me. With so many predators in this large world I was afraid. But I knew I couldn’t just stay there so I made my way to a tree and tried to climb it so I could look around but I still didn’t have a lot of strength. A enormous horse walked by and I started yelling for help and the beautiful white horse heard me and looked down at such a tiny animal. The horse asked why I was out here with out my mother and I told him one of my siblings hit me and I fell off my mothers back. So the horse said he would help me find my mother I slowly crawled up the his mane and grabbed a hold as we looked around the area. After looking for hours I finally realized we were close to our home and seeing mother and my siblings playing around the den. The horse helped me down and mother asked what happened and I told her and I had fallen off being so tiny. As my brother stood there laughing that night I beat the crawl by before you can walk out of him. And not one of my siblings ever picked on me again. In fact I was always first for food or anything we did as a family. So little Bruno asked is thats why you are so mean today? And Oscar said yes after years of being abused by my own siblings I decided to get tough and never looked back. Wow little Bruno said you are one tough badger. The moral of my story so never think you know someone or their actions after you just met them take time to get to know someone. Little Bruno thanked Oscar for the great story and helping his nose to feel better.

Falling off to sleep the three of them slept til it was late morning. Slowly moving little Bruno asked if Oscar could travel with them til he found his new home? And big Bruno said that was up to him and Oscar thought that was a great idea. So the three of them when off looking for breakfast when Oscar remembered the blueberry patch not far away. Making their way to the berry patch the three ate til there was not a blueberry in sight and three started back across the mountain. Big Bruno wondering what was on little Bruno’s mind asked him what was on his small mind. Little Bruno looked up at the large old bear. Asking how do you know my mother Corra and how did the two of you two meet????? Well big Bruno told him about being at the river being a younger bear seeing this beautiful young vibrant bear in the mist of all those large male bears trying to catch fish and she was getting fish right and left. And one big old angry bear when to attack your mother and seeing him I jump in between the old bear and your mother and me attacked me and I fought him off. He was a strong bear and had a lot of experience from his age. I took a bad beating after the grizzly went down. The grizzly lugged at me biting me in the side of the neck, I grabbed him at the side of his face and didn’t let go til he throw me down to the ground. Coming at me while I was still on the ground he jumped and I rolled with him hitting the ground. And then I rolled back onto him biting him under his neck fat and he pulled trying to get away and I let go as he rounded back and I jumped on top and pounced him several times with my claws. Getting up but being weak he tossed me but I landed on my feet. I rammed him and we both hit the ground and he got my ear then I threw him down and he just laid in the water. Then he limped away to the river bank. Corra thanked me and shared her fish with me that day.And from that day own me and Corra watch out for each other. You have a great mother son and I hope when we find her you stop being so mischievous. And little Bruno said he would be so much better then before when he found her.

The three made their way to and old geyser and the three jumped in and played in the steaming hot water. Big Bruno splashed Oscar and little Bruno all at the same time so the two ganged up on big Bruno and splashing him til they couldn’t splash any more. After hours of playing the three of them just floated and enjoyed the feeling of the fresh warm water which helped healing of little Bruno’s nose.

After getting out and shaking off the three laid next to the geyser and just enjoyed getting dried off by the sun. Til the three got dried off and then decided they were hungry and seeing a large vine with watermelons they had big Bruno jump on the melons to burst them open and they ate watermelon til they were beyond full. And back to moving the the back side of the mountain. What a surprise to see such and big animal.
