The Bad Boy Piper
Waking up in the morning is no easy feat for a major part of us, but that wasn't the case for Chloe. Described by many as annoyingly chirpy, she awoke with a beautiful smile and happy, bright eyes. Yes. Definitely annoying.
She got dressed in a light sundress and made the short distance to her pride and joy, Cold Brews. Even with it being a very recent startup, it generated a pretty standard income. Chloe was just happy she listened to Lily and jumped in.
The bell chimed as she walked over to the counter and thanked her night barista for her shift. That was another thing about the cute coffee shop. It was open all day and all night, which was ridiculous for a small coffee place in a small town, but it worked. Somehow.
'Did you hear about the new bakery? It's been getting a lot of buzz and some decent media coverage too. And the owner is apparently so cute you'd think he was the real treat.' The night barista, Garett said with stars in his eyes.
Chloe couldn't help smiling. A new business in town? Surely that meant the quaint little town was now expanding. It was also a pastry shop. Huh. She could sell their pastries and treats as a free promotion and give them a cut. She could have parties for the poor college kids with lots of coffee and lots of sugar. Garett could finally get a boyfriend. The best of all, she could make a new friend. Chloe was happy. Then again, when was she not?
'Do you think we should take some coffee over and say hi?', she asked Garett. 'Maybe you'd be sweet enough to do it for me?'
Garett wasn't dumb. He knew what shew what she was planning. 'Honey. Chloe. You don’t know me at all, do you? Already did that. He's straight. Sadly. There is one thing you must know though. He's kind of a bad boy.'
Psh. Bad boy. Like she didn’t know any bad boys. Chloe has had so much experience with bad boys she was practically the bay boy piper. 'Don't worry about me, sweet child. I know how to deal with a bad boy. How bad can they be, anyway?'
Oh, you'll find out Chloe. You will find out.
