Sebastian stepped into the apartment and found Gideon waiting on the couch. “You made it back.” He checked his watch. “It’s late. Why aren’t you in bed?” Technically it wasn’t that late. Not quite one, but Gideon always started his mornings early. “I needed to talk to you.” He covered a yawn and moved over so that Sebastian would take a seat next to him, and not one of the chairs. “What’s going on?” “The coven council wants to see you.” Gideon looked triumphant, and it took Sebastian a moment to realize what that meant. “They’ll let me back in?” It was something he’d wanted for so long but had convinced himself would never happen. “You’re not f*****g with me?” “I fucketh not.” Gideon handed him an envelope, sealed with the coven’s symbol of two intertwining snakes. “You’ll go?” “Y
