The house felt so empty. It always felt empty when Cory was at work, but today was even worse. After their night together, Evelyn felt like she might burst. Maybe what they were doing was wrong, though based on what she’d seen in movies, TV shows, and ads, casual intimacy didn’t seem to be a big deal for people in these days. She thought the intensity of her experience with Cory might trigger some memories, but so far it hadn’t. At least while they were making love, it was easy to forget that all was not well with Evelyn.
