The Meeting

Chapter 4

Scarlett POV

I woke up in the morning a little bit sore but otherwise fine. My day off and I remember promising Maddy to go out and spend time with her and Jake. I usually take them to a nearby park that is about a five minute walk but i have something else in mind.

 I know jake likes history and maddy likes princesses so today i have made it so we can go tour in the palace even though it doesn't interest me i'll do it for them, never know i might have fun.

 I get up and do my usual morning routine and head downstairs to make breakfast for my ids when all of a sudden my phone rings and it displays BFF and i pick up and say “ Hello” all i hear is my manager crying and she finally says “ I need you i need someone to talk to” and i just sighed internally and said “ i have the kids are you at home cause i can stop by if you need me for a second i had planned a day for the kids” she said “ No go ahead we can talk later on just let me know when you have time to spare” i said “ ok” and she hung up while holding back her cries. 

I put my phone down and continued to gather all the necessary ingredients to make breakfast.

 I was almost done when i hear Maddy call out for mommy and i rush to her and she smiled and i say “ what do you want honey you scared me i thought you were in danger the way you called out for me” she laughed and said “ oh mommy i just thought i wasnt going to see you today but here you are” and she continued walking towards me as i gave her a playful smile and nugged her to sit while i continue to cook. 

When i was done i served maddy and called out for jake saying “Breakfast is ready” and he said “good morning ma im sorry but i was mad yesterday and i shouldnt have been rude” i just look over to him thinking how my baby has grown up and how he has turned into a gentleman already and i cant express my feelings at this moment so i went over to him and gave him a kiss on the forehead and smiled and gave him his plate  of pancakes eggs and sausage links he smiled and started to dig in. 

I drank some coffee and i started to clean up my mess while the kids ate.

 After breakfast i waited a little while before i told them to get dressed that we were going out and they all but got ecstatic and ran to their perspective rooms and didnt come out until they were fully dressed. 

We got in the car and drove listening to music that was both relaxing and calm and we enjoyed eachother we sat and talked in general about their likes and their dislikes soon after  we arrived and they were amazed and shocked. 

“OMG MOM” maddy said while jumping up and down while trying to control her excitement and jake was just stunned im not sure if he liked it but if he did he was trying to study the scenery and the view. I had to admit it was a very beautiful view and how the light made it seem so ancient and elegant said so much.

I entered hand in hand with them until Jake stopped me and said “Mom im a big boy can i just stand here with you instead of looking like a little baby holding his mom’s hand” i just smiled and said “Of course honey but just for the future you are my baby and im always gonna view you as that” and i kissed his cheek and he just glarred daggers at me and gave me a lopsided smile that reached his eyes.

As i looked around i saw the foyer has a brown and black marble floor and a beautiful chandelier in the center of the room and it appeared to have diamond hanging from them, Gorgeous i thought and while i was in deep thought looking around seeing all the different statues of old guys and wolves i was wowed and didnt even notice the small petite girl that came to us and was talking to the kids. I heard her saying “This palace used to belong to an older woman in the early 1800’s and she was so cruel that it was said she had slaves and when she was bored of them she would give the =m a slow and horrendous death” the kids all but shuddered at the mere thought of it.

I look at her to say plz stop and she all but changed the subject “ Hi my name is Sara and i will be your host to show you around i assume you want a tour?”  “ Yes please and my name is Scarlett, This is Maddy and Jake” pointing to the kids. She smiled and started to walk while motioning for us to follow.

We entered this big room with gold and white drapes that were held up by an iron bar that was black and flowed all the way down and stopped as soon as it met the floor. It held a long table sleek and brown fading almost black with nothing to adorn but a simple black vase and 12 chairs. “This is the formal dining room doesnt look warm does it now?” our tour lady Sara said in almost a question voice. I took one look around and stoped to look at her “no it doesnt but if your royal than it has to appear as such in a home “ at least thats what i get from it already knowing the royals stay here in a separate section not allowed for tours. She simply nodded and said “yes the royals stay in a part of this home and sometimes appear for the tour when they’re up for it but dont hold your breath sometimes they just wanted to be left alone and not be praised like some god cause they’re just human like you” i heard chuckling and looked to my right to see Ariel’s fiance. The tour lady sara all but bowed and in a hush tone said” i guess your luck the sexy prince made an appearance.”He chuckled like he heard it and came to us and kneeled in front of maddy and jake and smiled and asked if they wanted ice cream and they all looked at me pleadingly even the prince. I all but laughed and nodded and followed.

 We all sat down and he called from his phone for someone to bring in 5 bowls of chocolate ice cream. 10 minutes passed by and we were all in deep laughter because the prince made a joke about wolves and vampires, hilarious. A thin, brunette hair ,and fair skin  girl with a tall blonde headed boy walked in bringing a cart with them that contained the ice cream bowls. They started putting the bowls in front of us and the girl walked up to bring me the ice cream bowl and i notice her smile and bow and i say “ Oh no please dont bow im nobody special” she all but nodded and said “yes ma’am” and i beamed a bight smile to her and said “thank you for the ice cream” and she nodded and turned to leave with the guy who came in but was so silent.

 He looked me in the eye and said “your Ariels employee right?” i just nodded and he smiled. “You guys know me and yet i dont know anyone elses name besides Scarlett and Sara” he said and the kids sat up straight and smiled at each other and spoke both together “Kyle” “Maddy” and i just laughed at their nervousness that was so cute.He must have thought it was funny too because he all but said laughing “Relax you dont have to be so nervous im a regular person okk and just because im a prince doesnt mean i dont bleed like a normal person and sleep like a normal person” and he had an amused look to him that made him look like a friendly and caring person. 

To do all of this i thought just to see my babies laugh and actually having so much fun i actually started seeing exactly why Ariel  loved him so much and then to know that they are going to get married. She is a lucky girl. I wish i had someone like that and i had to check myself cause what am i thinking this only happens rarely and im really happy for Ariel she deserves it with her bubbly self.

We were done with ice cream and going around the palace again continuing the tour and he accompanied us the whole time staying just behind me which was nice but unnerving at times because i barely felt him so i would look back and he would just smirk and stare into my eyes and i would turn around sometimes blushing. I dont know why i was acting like this but it was nice but it all soon ended and we were leaving. The kids said their goodbyes and the prince said “good bye until we meet again Scarlett” while looking me in the eye the whole time. I felt a rush come down my whole body and i just wanted to kiss him so i looked away just looking caught out. He chuckled and walked off while i left with my kids to the car.
