*FINN'S POV*
I hoisted my backpack strap higher up my shoulder as I climbed up the steps to school. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed Tinsley with her friends. She had her earbuds in and was laughing at something her friend said. Shaking my head and frowning, I looked away from her and focused on walking towards my friends.
"Hey man. Where were you? I've been waiting for you for so long." Evan, my super smart friend clapped me on the back. He was also really tall, just like me.
"Sorry, my mom had to drop my sister off," I said, setting down my saxophone case on the ground.
"Jax's in the media center, waiting for your notes." Evan said, rolling his eyes at me.
"You've got to be kidding me. I'm not giving him my notes." Evan let out a bark of laughter and shrugged.
I huffed out a breath, annoyed, but grudgingly lugged my saxophone case back up. Looks like I was going to have to find Jax. I waved bye to Evan and headed towards the media center.

When I got to the media center, I looked around and found Jax almost immediately. He was sitting at one of the tables talking super loudly to- Wait. Was that Tinsley?
As I got closer to their table, I could hear her soft voice and Jax's laughter.
"Jax." He looked up and then broke into a lazy grin.
"Finnnn." He gave me a smirk and then looked over at Tinsley. "Me and Tinsley were just talking about when you were gonna get here."
I rolled my eyes and ignored his snarky expression, choosing to pull my notes out of my folder and slide them across the table to him. He nodded thanks and then started copying them. I rolled my eyes again and focused on Tinsley.
She had her brown hair tied up into a messy bun and didn't seem to notice that there was a strand in her face. For some reason, I had the urge to reach across the table and brush it away.
When I looked up at her face, her eyes met mine and I was startled, wondering how long she had been looking at me. She smiled softly at me then said, "Nice shirt." I looked down at my shirt, which was from Harvard.
"Haha thanks. This isn't actually mine. It was my father's. He went to Harvard and then he graduated there and went to med school, met my mom-" I stopped in embarrassment realizing I was rambling. Tinsley had this silly grin on her face and Jax was looking like he was trying not to choke on his laughter.
Swallowing my embarrassment, I snatched the notes away and stood up. "I'm gonna go." Jax shot me a glare and pointedly looked over at Tinsley. I feigned misunderstanding and waved good bye to them.
I wasn't sure why I was so awkward around Tinsley, but it was always the same. I didn't even like her. It unnerved me how a random girl like her could embarrass me so much.
