Elite Academy

I’m Elyna Mikaelaze, born as a hybrid. I’m a vampire and a werewolf. This year I’ll be turning 18. I live in a small town called Riondell with my parents and my older brother Jason Mikaelaze who’s 20 years old. Our house is a three storied house. We live up on Emerald Hill where not much people live so that we don’t have to interact with much people. I’ve been thought that the most important part of life is survival. My whole life, I never got to do anything but follow by my parents rules but now I know that I need more than just survival. I’ve admission myself in an Elite Academy. The morning sunrise glowed at my face. It’s finally my first day to go school, my first time interacting with humans. Am I terrified? Of course I am! But this is something I want to do. So I got dressed in my uniform. I had to wear a short sleeved buttoned shirt with a grey pleated skirt, topping of with a dark blue coat and knee high socks with black shoes. I looked at myself in the mirror and for the first time, I felt like I was normal, I felt a little mundane. “You sure you wanna go through this? There will be many humans around you. You sure you can handle it”. “Mom! Stop worrying. I’ll be fine”. I then took a glass of blood from the refrigerator and started sipping. Since I was a kid, one thing that was really important was "We don’t feed on humans! We are not monsters". Anyways, I drank my portion of blood and headed for school. I arrived at my school. The building was really huge. I shook off the worried feeling that was inside me and continued to walked inside. The halls were filled with a lot of students. I suddenly got this weird feeling inside of me. My sense were all heightened. I never had this feeling before because I never had to be around humans. Anyways I followed the signs and walked towards the office. “You must be Elyna!!, said a teacher. “Yes that’s me”, I said while giving him a handshake. “Well since all the paperwork is settled. Let me show you to your class.” I followed him. As I walked in, there were at least 25 people in the classroom. My heart was beating faster than ever. I introduced myself and went straight to my seat. I paid attention in each of my lectures. I tried not to talk to people since it’s just my first day. During break time, I went to the cafeteria. I took just a little food since I didn’t really feel like eating. I look around the cafeteria looking for an empty table to sit at but apparently a girl with black hair was waving me over to sit with her and her friends. I didn’t want to be rude so I sat with them. “Hey everyone, I’m Elyna.” “Hi, I’m Filla. Nice to meet you. This is Riley, Andrew and Mark”, she said while pointing at them. I nodded and smiled at them. They all greeted me except for Mark. He just looked at me and gave me a cold look. I tried not to make eye contact with him. “From today onwards you’ll hang out with us”, said Riley. “That’s great but why me?” “You look like a fun person plus you’re really pretty. Usually most people in this school are dull”, said Andrew. “Ohh wow thanks I guess”. As school finished I was about to go straight home when a guy came out of nowhere and stood in front of me. I don’t think he’s from my class. “Umm do I know you?” “I don’t think so but you’re really hot”.“Oh uhh ok.” I then tried walking away but he pushed me towards the wall and placed his hands on the wall, leaving me stuck in his arms. “What are you doing? Move.” “Where do you wanna go, baby” “Pls stop this! Move!!” He was so close to me that I could hear his heartbeat, his pulse beating and the smell of his blood, the feeling that I feel right now is too powerful. Before I knew it, my fangs ripped through the tip of his skin and I started sucking out the blood. Fresh blood. It was my first time tasting fresh blood. It made me feel complete. It was nothing like blood from a blood bag. It was fresh, more rich. I didn’t ever want to stop but then I realised that what I’m doing is wrong, it’s forbidden. It’s something I’ve been thought to never every do in my life. I immediately stopped. Before he could scream, I looked into his eyes and compelled him to forget everything. “You’ve never ever met me before and you will forget everything that happened here.” I ran home as fast as I could and locked myself in my room. What did I just do?! I bit a human! I bit a human!! Oh my god, I even compelled him. No It’s ok, It’s fine. No one even saw me, I’m fine. I then took a bath to calm myself. My mom asked how was school and I answered as calming as possible. "It was fine mom." I ate dinner and went to my room again, my brother didn’t really care about what I did at school meanwhile my dad was busy doing his own work. "Ding!" I got a notification. I checked my phone and it said "Filla added you into a group". This made me smile. Andrew, Riley and Mark were all in the group too. I felt really happy knowing I had friends. It was a few seconds of happiness before I remembered the incident that happened at school. I just can’t seem to forget about it!! I’ve always wondered how it would be if I was a human, I would have a normal life, no hiding or worrying if I accidentally kill someone because I can’t control myself. Anyways that’s just all a fantasy. I tried getting some sleep that night but it was interrupted by a terrifying nightmare. I’m in this old abandoned house. No one was there.Outside was the forest. As I went out, I saw a some woods and a small fire. Suddenly a lady appeared behind me. “Who are you”, I asked her. “You know who I am and you know exactly what I want.” I turned behind and my parents were tied up. “Mom? Dad?” “They all will suffer because of you!!”, said the lady as she pushed my parents into the fire. That’s when I woke up screaming. That was a terrifying and the weirdest dream ever. I’ve never even seen that lady before and more importantly why were my parents there. I stared at the ceiling wondering about my dream till I eventually fell back asleep.
