I saw Aria gasp and squeal in delight, running to Kai who picked her up and swung her around Kai! Kai! I see you. I can touch you! It worked Aria said in delight I told you it would Aria. You’re so powerful Kai said with pride as he held her in his arms, her legs wrapped around his waist. They both walked towards me, Aria touching Kai’s face in wonder while he walked, his eyes only looking at Aria. When they reached me, Kai gently lowered Aria to her feet and held her hand I miss this Aria said, looking at their joined hands Miss what? I don’t understand I said Grandma Deedee has blocked me from coming into Aria’s room. We can’t meet there Kai said quietly WHAT? WHY? I asked, shocked Uncle Ray we don’t have a lot of time Kai said Aria saw a vision that she needs to tell you But if you’re not able to go to her, how are you both here? Which…by the way…is where? I asked You’re in l…Lindo Aria said Lindo? I asked She means Limbo kai said, smiling gently Your wolf had been put into a state of sleep. Aunty Anna did it to help you heal, but your wolf should have woken up a while ago. The reason it hasn’t is because I told him not to Why? I asked, knowing that there was a reason Coz uncle Ray, then you be angry and fight and then miss your mate and she needs help. She got big blessing from the big - Aria cut of Enough Aria. Not everything…not yet, remember? Kai said gently to her Aria’s eyes widened and nodded her head. I bent down and looked at Aria as she held onto Kai. I lifted my hand and touched the left french braid and felt the softness of her hair and smelt home. My wolf wined in delight Blessing from who baby? I asked Not baby! Aria said, stomping her foot I grinned, my eyes darting between Kai and Aria as I watched him comfort his mate and place a kiss on her forehead Not yet uncle Ray. But soon Kai said, nodding but right now, we are here to let your wolf know to come out. It’s time. You need to find her now uncle Ray But if it’s not the moon goddess, who are you kids talking to? How do you know it’s safe? How are you both here if Deedee has stopped you from entering the home Kai? I asked, the questions whizzing around my head We are both in our own homes but… Kai cut off We flying uncle Ray! Aria giggled. We flying! But I’m still sleeping Flying? I asked I don’t understand. Kai? No time uncle Ray. We are here to help. I spoke to your wolf before and told him if this happened, what to do. Aria is here to help you come out of the darkness Kai said My wolf knows? I asked, surprised then why the he…heck has he not said or done anything? Because it wasn’t right before. Now it is Aria said with a big smile I shook my head, awed at their power. What the hell was going on? What is this stuff with Deedee? Why did she ban them from being together? While I understood the grown up’s worry, I also understood their desire to be together. Hell, I barely smelt my mate and I was ready to jump into fire for her/him? These two…how could we keep them apart? Wouldn’t that be torture for them? Kai…is my mate a male? I ask Uncle Ray Aria said Mate is alive. You so silly. Your mate not dead No uncle Ray. Your mate was in the van yes Kai said with a nod But she escaped before it blew up How? I asked, amazed My heart started thumping hard even as I felt the rush of tears gather in my eyes Shhhhh Aria said, laughing Come! Come on. We need to go fast! Where? I ask Aria grabs my hand while still holding Kai’s and I stand up, following her. I look at these kids and shake my head, knowing that I will never understand them and their powers. I felt the urgency in Aria’s walk as she skipped as fast as her little legs would allow. I didn’t know where we were going, all I could see was just bright light and nothing else. After a few minutes, Aria stopped and let go of my hand. She lifted that hand, opened it so her psalm was facing upwards and muttered something I couldn’t hear. Out of nowhere, a fluorescent blue light appeared, hovering above her psalm, the ball twirling before it changed into a sparkling blue star, the edges almost dipped in white crystal as it shone brightly Holy s**t! I whispered Aria gasped, wide-eyed; her body turned rapidly to look at Kai who looked at me with disappointment Uncle Ray said a bad word! Aria told Kai I know Kai said patiently He is surprised. He was naughty but he won’t say it again But he not supposed to Aria said Aria looked at me even as I tried to process what was in front of me. I looked at Kai and I swear…I felt so ashamed of myself for swearing. His eyes penetrate my very soul as I saw for the first time what Simon spoke about. In front of me, a child stood; but his eyes were of an old soul. Eyes of a very very VERY old parent who is reprimanding me for speaking in that language. As if I had disrespected them both. I bowed my head, feeling my wolf whimper in regret S ok uncle Ray Aria said I was wow too. But I say wow! Every time I see wow I nodded, understanding her meaning. Ashamed that a child was telling me how to behave. What do I do with this Aria? I asked her Remember Aria said Remember what you saw. What this is and then say it Aria I said, that doesn’t make sense. I don’t….understand. Say what? When? She can’t tell you any more Kai said You will understand. Just don’t fight it and don’t forget because if you do. You will lose her Lose who? I ask Fina Aria laughed, jumping up and down Who’s Fina? I ask, my heart thumping, my wolf growling at the name Aria laughed, her star twirling faster and faster until it became a blur. I watched, fascinated as I felt my throat tighten. Something was happening and I knew it was important. Suddenly, the star stopped spinning and in the middle of the light, doe-like eyes appeared and my wolf howled long and loud inside of my head. I finally felt like I could breathe again Fina Aria said with happiness With a quiet mutter, the star shot upwards, bursting into blue snow like flakes and Aria took my hand again, walking me forward. I couldn’t speak. All I could feel was my heart trying to rip out of my chest as my wolf howled in delight. I wanted to scream and shout but I couldn’t do anything except learn to breathe again. Aria let go of my hand again and in a sweet voice spoke to me Ok uncle Ray. You gotta wake up now ok? Aria said Wake up? I asked Wake up Aria laughed Kai walked over to me and I bent down, wanting to ask him something but he put his free hand onto my forehead and looked deep within me, speaking to my wolf Wake up now Kai said I felt myself be flung back, wind brushing against my face harshly as I was thrown away from Kai and Aria. I saw them get further and further away before they became a dot and then disappeared. The white light swirled into blue before the colours merged and I opened my mouth to scream……and I started to cough; my body shaking as I struggled to get air into my lungs “s**t! Ray! Ray!....What the f**k?” I heard Scott shout I felt my body jerk up as someone pounded my back and suddenly, air rushed in. I could breathe again! I coughed harder as my eyes finally opened and I blinked to adjust to the light. “f**k! What the hell happened?” Simon growled “I left for one f*****g minute” “I don’t know!” Scott said as I still coughed “He just jerked up outta nowhere” “Here” I heard Tim I looked up, finally my coughing fit easing up a little. He held a glass of water in his hand and I took it from him, swallowing it deeply before I heard Kai in my head Slowly Kai said I held back from finishing the water as I lightly coughed again. I pushed Scott's hands away as he tried to support my back. I took a few careful and slow sips and it helped me as I finally stopped coughing. I saw the shocked faces of Tim and Scott and saw Simon watch me with wary eyes; all silent “Welcome back” Simon said with a nod I sat the empty glass of water by the bedside table where there was a jug of water and nodded at them. I moved the covers off my legs and started to scoot over the edge of the bed when they all finally spoke “Wooah” Simon said as he held me back “Where the f**k do you think your going?” “What the hell man?” Scott shouted “You just woke up” “Boss, you can’t move yet” Tim said “Let me go” I growled “I have to go” “Go where?” Simon asked as he stood in my way “You’ve just woken up after almost two days” “Let me go!” I growl louder “Ray” Simon began “Yo-” “The kids” I say, cutting Simon off “What?” Simon asked, tilting his head “What kids?” Scott asked, confused “THE kids!” I stressed, looking Simon in the eyes Simon froze, paling before sighing and nodding at me. “Well, s**t!” Simon sighed, moving away from the bed “Huh?” Scott said, his eyes darting between us “What the hell?” “I’ve got to go” I said as I move to the edge of the bed Simon looked at me for a long moment quietly before he nodded and looked at both Scott and Tim; his body stiff as he moved away to the wardrobe and pulled it open. He threw me blue Armani jeans and a shirt and turned to look at us all “We leave quietly. We don’t speak to anyone” Simon said “Tim, make sure we have a car but I don’t want anyone knowing” “I still have the keys to the toyota from yesterday” Tim said quietly I saw him watch me, judging my mood but I wasn’t interested. I had to get to her. I had to find her. I stood up as I watched Tim leave. Scott watched us in silence before he swore “s**t” Scott whispered, smacking his head “The kids. Ok” I laughed, why? I don't know. I could afford to laugh because she was alive. My mate was alive. Tim called Simon on the mobile and honestly, I don’t know how it was possible in such a busy pack house but apart from a couple of teens and a janitor; we didn’t see anyone else. Tim threw the keys to Simon who went to the driver side as I went to the passenger side, both Tim and Scott sitting in the back. We made it into the small car quietly and once started, Simon pulled away from the pack house, gunning the car out of the drive, waving at the guards posted around. We were too quick for them to notice who we all were but all I cared about was my mate. My poor, lost mate. “Where am I going?” Simon asked me “Back to the park” I said “s**t, seriously?” Scott asked “Why?” Tim asked “I need to go there” I said, not saying anything more Almost forty minutes later, in a strained and silent car ride; we arrived at the park where the van had burst into flames. Simon parked in front of the cafe where I had sat down in, my eyes taking in the remaining damage still around but not caring about it. The large burnt area of the park, the scorched grass still prominent; the smell of fumes still lingering in the air as I jogged away from it Where? Where do I go? I asked Near to the left then straight on, past the dense part of the wood Kai’s voice answered You will scent her from there “Where are we going?” Scott asked “Ray” Simon said as he ran behind me “Do you know where you are going?” I didn’t answer them. I ran. Faster than I ever did and heard the rest of them shout behind me as I left them behind. My heart beat faster and faster as I approached the densely covered area where the trees were wide and tall, almost blanketing the sky and covering up the sunlight. I felt my wolf howl as he caught a scent and my eyes turned wolf. I ran, my lungs burning as I gasped for air. My body was tight with anticipation, my eyes almost watering from the wind that was hitting my face with such speed but I didn’t care. My foot slipped a couple of times on the wet leaves but each time, I rightend myself and sprint faster. I felt the sweat gather on my forehead and could feel my hands getting damp but I pushed on. The scent of rain was in the air and I almost shouted out at Kai when a hint of oranges hit my nose….no..not just oranges….a very faint smell of blueberries too. What the f**k? Why was I smelling blueberries and oranges? “Ray” I heard Simon call out “f**k me, is he on crack? How is he so fast?” Scott panted I ignored them all, sure they were behind a fair bit, I rushed past many trees and the scent started to become stronger. Oranges mainly, but a sweet lingering of blueberries was there too. Suddenly, I stopped. My feet slipped as I came to a large wooded area where a wooden and stone staircase down to the rest of the forest and park could be seen. Some kind of walkway. I smelled the water which was near and I looked around. My harsh breathing loud and deep as my eyes hone into a tree on the left, three steps away. I hear the guys finally catch up; their own breathing a little harsh as I walk to the tree. I looked at it, unsure what I was looking for as I ran my hand over the bark…..until I found it. I freeze for a second before my nails lengthen and I gorge out the area, my growls of anger and pain now loud as I let out a chillingwarning “What are you doing?” Simon asked “Maybe we should call….aaaww s**t!” Scott said I held up the offending item I found, buried into the tree. I held it up and I howled. A bullet. Whoever had been here had shot at my mate! Where was she? f**k! Two days! She was hurt! She was bleeding. Goddess! Don’t let her be dead! “FFFFIIINNNAAA” I shouted My body whipped around, my head turning left and right as I tried to find her. I sniffed at the bullet and lifted my nose in the air but any scent left on the bullet had been washed out from the rain. I growled again, shouting for her “FFFIIINNNNAAAAA” I growled out loudly, my voice echoing in the trees “Who’s Fina?” Tim asked “Not again!” Scott shouted I ignored them, my eyes darting erratically as I ran to the pathway, jumping down the stairs and landing effortlessly at the bottom. I ran forwards and almost missed it but my wolf froze inside of me before he yelped really loudly in my head My body became a statue. Simon, Tim and Scott ran up behind me; almost bumping into me. I could feel their eyes on but I stood still, my eyes slowly scanning the ground and bushes. I felt my heart beat even more louder and I knew I had to calm down in case I missed another clue. I closed my eyes, willing my heart to slow down, begging Kai and Aria to help me focus. I don’t know what helped but I became calmer. Slow, the sounds of the park started to fade. First the sounds of movement dulled. Then the swaying of the leaves and branches dimmed and finally there was silence; my own heartbeat now a slow rhythm that seemed to quieten…until it changed. Until I heard it! My ears picked up the lightest of whimper, the quietest of an exhale and my head slowly turned right. I walked quietly towards a large bush that was in front of an even larger curved rock. I looked at the left side and couldn’t see anything and almost felt myself unravel until I walked to the right side. The large bush covered everything up and I had to slowly move the smaller branches aside. My hand made it to the other side. I froze when the barest hint of a sigh was blown against my hand. I felt the air brushing against my skin and my wolf howled with joy. Slowly, I pulled the branches further apart as I gently forced my way past it until I could push my body through. I heard Scott gasp and Simon shush him. As I finally pushed through the unnaturally thick shrubbery, my eyes widened as I came through it; my eyes landing on the most beautiful wolf, lying quietly on the ground, her large, deep grey eyes looking out at me in fear. I saw her try to shuffle back as my whole body finally came down directly in front of her and her scent hit all my senses. I felt my body stiffen even as arousal coursed through my body but she slowly wiggled back, whimpering. Tears gathered in my eyes as I took her in, my heart now thumping once again at the beauty in front of me. I watch my dream look at me, baring her teeth in warning and the only thing I can do is humble myself in front of her, lowering my hand and my face in front of my long awaited mate and spoke. “Fina” I whispered the one word I knew to be true
