THE LYCAN KING'S REJECT

  “ Come on Lily, you're gonna be late to your own party!!” I cover my ears as I hear Marylin scream making her way up stairs to my bedroom. I just finished putting on my diamond earrings that my dad bought me to match the dress I was wearing. It was a  long red dress with an open criss crossed back that had a slit down my right leg. I decided to wear my clear four inch heels to go with it.  As I was picking up my phone off the dresser Marylin burst through the door.  “ What the hell Lily , are you still not done ?”  “ ya know i would have been ready if i wasn't only notified 2 HOURS AGO that you were throwing a party for me.” I said as I crossed my arms over my chest and stared at my best and only friend.  “ I already told you it was a last minute decision, because I refuse to let you stay in your room inhaling a bag of fritos like its air. Come on Lily-Jane.” she said as she walked over to me and picked up my hands and sat us both on my bed.  “ It's your 18th birthday ,you could find your mate today, you should not be sitting here doing nothing on such a special day.” Marylin said as she looked in my eyes I always loved her baby blue eyes. They looked too unnatural to be real but they were.  I sighed before I spoke. “ I know Mary, but we both know that everyone out there hates me, especially  jackass Jackson.” Our future alpha was only a year older than both of us but he was still the biggest ass ever. Jackson White thinks just because he's the alphas son he can do whatever he wants to whoever he wants. And he's the biggest playboy out there. Although now that i think about it i haven't seen him with any girls lately.  “ But it doesn't matter, I'm already dressed.” I said as I smiled at her and she smiled back. “ I can't let all your hard party preparations go to waste or else I'd feel bad.”  We stood up together and Mary pulled down her short, black, and sparkly party dress. She still wore heels even though she was tall enough, standing at 5’8 maybe 5’9. I, on the other hand, had to wear heels because I was more on the shorter side, barely standing at 5 foot 2 and a half. Even though werewolves were naturally tall I somehow came out short.  We walked downstairs together and I stopped at the end of the staircase where I saw both of my parents waiting for me.  “ Oh my baby girl looks so beautiful!” my father, matthis, whispered ,loud enough for us to hear, as he pulled my mother,Marine, to his side. She was already starting to get a little teary as they walked over to me and pulled me into a loving hug.  “ When you find your mate tonight, don't forget about us.” my mother quietly said in my ear. I pulled back from her and looked both my parents in the eyes.  While my mother had the most beautiful blue eyes ever, my father had to wear brown contacts to cover up his eyes. His eyes were a bright red color, but when I asked how his eyes were red he would always change the subject, so after a while I just stopped asking seeing how uncomfortable he was with the topic. Either way I still loved him very much, and I did the same thing because people at school and people in the pack made me feel like a freak. I had heterochromia so one of my eyes was red while the other was blue. When I was younger I used to think it was so cool to have two different eye colors, but as I got older I found it weird and everyone started to call me a freak. I wanted to know why my dad's eyes were red and why so was one of mine. After I gave up on getting an answer from my parents I started to wear dark brown contacts to cover up my eyes.  “ I will never forget you guys, you both mean the world to me. And we don't know if I'll find my mate tonight.”  My parents smiled and kissed my forehead before all four of us headed outside to the party. I was never much of a party person mainly because I didn't like all the extra attention, but also because at parties lots of people are pretending to be nice to me because of Mary. Mary is basically friends with everyone and everyone loves her. She turned 18 a few months ago and still hasn't found her mate. I thought she'd be a little more upset that she hasn't found her mate but she seemed perfectly happy. Sometimes a little too happy.  We make it outside and my parents go off to speak with the alpha, Alpha Christian. So I stay with Mary as she speaks to her friends. I wasn't kidding when I said she was my only friend. As she carries on a conversation with her friends they are all giving me dirty looks.  “ This is why I didn't want to have a party.” I sighed to myself. “ What was that ?” Mary questioned as  she turned around to face me since I was partially  hiding behind her back. “ err-uhm i said i was gonna grab me a drink. I'll be right back.'' I blurted as I turned and headed to find somewhere quiet and away from Mary’s basic bitchy friends.  After some wandering I managed to find a peaceful corner around the back of the pack house. I honestly didn't need to be at the party. It's not like anyone knew what the party was for, or maybe they just didn’t care. Then after about 30 or so minutes my wolf ( Lani ) started to get restless and pacing around my head.  “ What is it Lani ?” I asked her.  “ I don't know, I think our mate is here.” she replied “ what!! Are you serious? Our mat-” but before I could finish my sentence I felt a hand over my mouth and I felt the most amazing sparks all over my body. MATE!?
