At that point, it felt like my world was crumbling. It felt like my life was coming down in a rush. I had no idea how to avert it.
“Well, I…..I am not a princess and my father left several years ago” I managed to say. Whatever it is, I had to tell the truth. I was not going to lie to cover up myself. Whatever the consequences were, I am going to bear it, after all, it was the Queen who had called me, I had not come there myself.
“What!” They were shocked but I was not going to lie. They would probably ask me to leave the table but just before they could say a word, I stood up and bowed, ready to leave at their instruction.
“What! Your father left you? What an irresponsible man!” the King shook his head.
“Why are you standing, sister?” Britany questioned. Wait, what was going on? They were not going to reject me for not being a princess?
Just then, the maids walked in as they began to set the table,
“Bon appetite” The cook, whom she suspected to be the chief of the cooks, bowed. He was a male though.
“You are not going to tell me to leave?” I asked in surprise.
