“Mother surely knows best” Brittany smiled. Was this me? I blushed harder and turned to look at Tristan but he was far away. Of course, he was sitting right by my side but his eyes and mind were elsewhere. Tracing his eyes, I could see that he was looking at someone. Who was it? Just like I had thought, it was the same maid I had caught him making out with but I still could not see her face. Who the hell was she and why was she trying ot ruin my marriage that was not yet built. I guess the queen noticed him too as she called him with anger.
“Tristan!”
He turned in shock as he had not expected it. She gave him a stern look.
“So, tell us about yourself, my daughter. Your father is the king of which kingdom?” The King asked, expectantly as the maids began to set the table.
“Yes, tell us!” Brittany questioned excitedly as she awaited my response too.
Wait, what!
I turned to look at the queen so she would bail me out but her gaze was fixated on Tristan and I was sure she was not listening to our conversation. Did they ever think I was a princess? I wondered why they accepted me so quickly but I could not just imagine what they would say or how they would react if they discovered I was not a princess? I was confused and shocked. I could not dare to lie because they would find out. The king would get in touch with whomever I claimed to be my father and of course, the truth would be revealed. I also could not tell them about my true identity because what if they reject me?
I turned again to look at Tristan but he was not looking my way. He held up an angry face as stared back at his mother. Should I create a scene? I was so unsure of what to do or say. My heart began to beat fast like it was waiting to explode. Oh no!
