Chapter 5 :We're Partners

Matts POV in the past before Merida left

    The teacher walks in front of the class. We got this reading assignment, what now do you want teacher. "You know this assignment is a little hard so I've decided to let you work in partners." The teacher says and I look around for someone to work with. My buds are look around too. I see Merida look around, Rose must be gone today. She starts to work by herself and I see she is half way done. Merida is really smart. "You know what I'm gonna choose the partners for you." Says the teacher and I'm hoping to get one of my buds. I see Merida start mouthing the words no over and over again. She doesn't like to work with anyone but Rose. I feel bad for her because whenever the teacher chooses partners we are partnered up.

Merida's POV 

    I hear the teacher say that she is going to choose the partners. I say no to myself and mouth no also. I don't want to work with anyone, Rose is gone. When ever the teacher chooses my partner it is always Matt. Rose isn't here to stop me from doing something, not like I will. "Merida Ash and Matt Lock, you will be partners." The teacher says and I get butterflies in my stomach. I don't bother listening to the other partners being told. I see Matt looking at me through the corner of my eye. "Please, go to your partner." The teacher says and nobody moves because they don't like there partners, me on the other hand I have a huge crush on mine. Matt signals for me to come to him. I stand up and start to walk over to his seat. The teacher smiles knowing that someone listened to her. I hear students gasp for some reason. Matts buddies just look at me and Matt smiles at me. I get to him and just stand there as girls shoot me glares. "Where would you guys like to work?" The teacher asks and I look at Matt who just keeps looking at me and then he says. "The hallway." Still without looking away from me. "Okay." The teacher says. He stand up and bumps into me and I almost fall into one of Matts buddies. Matt catches me before I do, but in a way that looks like he is about to kiss me. I blush from embarrassment. "Tha..thank yo.. you." I say quietly and he smiles.

Matts POV 

    I catch Merida before she fell into my bud Aaron. The way I caught her would have made any girl crazy, but not her. She just blushed from embarrassment. I was half tempted to kiss her and I don't know why, I'm probably going crazy. I set Merida on her feet and we begin to walk out of the classroom to work in the hallway. I look at her ass and begin to check her out blatantly in front of the class, but in secret from the teacher otherwise I would probably have to go to the principles office. I hear girls boo and some guys whistle. I wanted to punch them for some odd reason. We get into the hallway and sit down. "I... I have half already do... done." Merida says stuttering. "That's alright." I say and she smiles, she has a pretty smile. Her smile dances in her eyes too.
