CHAPTER FOUR: DESIRE

Days passed and Ashina was still in denial about Liam being her mate since she had no clue of finding her mate, but what felt more of a mystery to her was Liam's sudden disappearances and returns from absolutely nowhere.

"huh," Ashina sighs and opens her eyes.

She got up and walked to the window of the room.

Looking outside, she falls into a dilemma with part of her missing home and wanting to go back and the other wanting to stay and find her Alpha.

"Morning sunshine" Liam walks into the room with a breakfast in his hand he rests it on the lamp stand and goes to stand by Ashina by the window.

"Something seems to be troubling you, what is it?" Liam asks.

"Well my problem is why it took you so long to bring breakfast" Ashina answered and quickly put a her face.

She went back and sat on the bed picked up the tray of food and started eating.

Liam opened the draw, picked a record and inserted it on the dusty old phonograph.

"That thing still works" Ashina asks in amazement.

" well is old but works just perfectly"

The phonograph played an old slow classic symphony.

" wow," Ash said, she settled the food on the lampstand and got close to the phonograph to get a peep and see how it worked.

" sounds lovely," Ashina said.

" yeah, care for a dance?" Liam stretched his hand towards Ashina.

She hesitated for a while but held Liam's hands and they got up to dance.

Facing each other, Liam held Ashina's right hand a little bit above shoulder level and used his right hand to grab Ashina's waist.

Ashina also placed her hand on Liam's right shoulder.

As the music commenced they began to dance.

They slowly moved by the rhythm produced by the phonograph.

Liam moved his foot forward as Ashina moved hers backwards and with that, they slowly danced across the space of the room.

For a moment there Ashina looked up at Liam, and for a moment all she ever wanted was for time to freeze and spend the whole eternity with Liam dancing.

She rests her head on Liam's chest as they continue to dance.

Liam spins her around in accordance with the music but Ashina lost in the moment hits Liam and they both fall on the bed with Ashina on top.

Ashina looked at Liam's eyes and felt sudden heat and from nowhere she kissed Liam.

For that particular moment, her wind was wiped clean of all doubts and suspicions about Liam.

Liam kissed her back and moved her over and she laid on the bed.

Liam lay on top of her and as the two were still kissing he slowly removed Ashina's clothing and Ashina took off Liam's clothes.

Ashina moans in both pleasure and pain as Liam strokes back and forth and the music still plays.

"what seems to be troubling you darling" Christa asks Adolphus who stands by the bay window of the chamber.

He sighs for a moment "What's going to happen to the pack now that we've our Luna"

" My daughter is not dead" Christa gets up from the bed and stood beside Adolphus

" sure Ash might be physically weak but her will is strong perhaps the strongest even than you and she'll conquer whatever hardship she's facing right now and she will survive and she will be back with us even before you know it because she is Ashina" Christa continued as tears begin to fall from her eyes.

Adolphus grabs Christa by her hands, pulls her in and rests her head on his shoulders.

" everything will be fine darling, now let's head downstairs".

while descending the stairs, Zack hurried up the stairs and whispered into Adolphus's ear

" Father, they are all waiting for you and others are outside by the gate somehow they've heard the news about Ashina gone missing"

"How?" Adolphus sighs.

Adolphus, Christa and Zack descend the stairs to face the curious crowd waiting for them downstairs.

The sudden presence of the royal family caused the murmuring to cease.

" settle down everyone, I know you all have heard rumours about the Luna gone missing" #

Adolphus said as they all turned and faced him"

" my elders have a seat with me but as for the rest of you, all your questions have been answered now turn and leave" Adolphus continued.

With that being said everyone except the elders of the pack left the mansion.

The rest took their seat at the mansion's conference table.

Adolphus climbed up and sat on his black and gold throne chair while Zack and Christa sat beside him facing the audience who patiently awaited their Alpha to speak.

" As I've already said, Ash has gone missing, I scouted the entire territory looking for her hoping I could bring her home but all I was able to retrieve were the blood-soiled remains of her clothes, you might be wondering why am telling you all this because is my family issue but is also the issue of the entire pack and it's survival and when it comes to that it involves you'll elders of the pack". Adolphus said.

"I say let Zack take over, he's more than capable of leading and considering the situation there's not much we can do about it If Ashina is not dead then she's probably in a different territory and with the amount of proof on the table she's not coming back anytime soon of forever and the people are desperate," one of the juries said.

" enough" Christa shuts him up.

"If there's one thing I know then that's Ashina is not dead and she'll be back." Christa persisted

" well the full moon is days away from now if Ashina hasn't returned until then we'll hold a memorial service in her honour and Zack will become the next Leader of the pack.

The whole place became silent for a while,

" Agreed," Adolphus said, " you are dismissed"

Everyone got up, bowed to the Alpha in respect and left.

"What was that? huh, up to the full moon which is supposed to be days from today, for all we know it could be tomorrow" Christa angrily said to Adolphus.

"Is not the leadership am worried about but a burial service for someone who's not even dead, for our beloved daughter" Christa persisted.

"It hurts me as much as it does to you, is Ashina's also my daughter but is time we took the necessary decisions to secure the future of our pack" Adolphus replied.

"UNBELIEVABLE!" Christa said and left.

Zack felt quite awkward in their presence so he left.

Adolphus sits alone in despair, he stares at the marble-tiled floor with his eyes filled with tears, he can't seem to fathom that his daughter is gone his family is torn apart and his pack's future is uncertain.

It was getting dark, Adolphus finally got up from his seat and headed to his chambers.

He saw Christa lying on the white couch facing the bay window.

thinking she's asleep Adolphus walks to her and finds her very much awake but with tears in her eyes.

" believe me if is in favour of the moon goddess our Ash will return, I too refuse to accept her death" Adolphus tries to raise Christa's spirit.

" come on now let's go to bed" Adolphus said, he picked up Christa by her hand, grabbed her waist and escorted her to bed.

Liam gets up, wears his pants and leaves Ashina alone thinking she's asleep.

Ashina saw Liam leave but this time decided to follow him, she took her shirt and sneaked out to follow him.

She picked up the pace but carefully hid by the bushes, ensuring she did not get caught.

she got to a point where Liam was no longer visible but she decided to go anyways

Her determination led her to a place which looked like a mansion, different from the one she lived in back home

Right before she made any move she saw Liam talking to the guards and they let him in.

Curious, Ashina wanted to follow her but before she could do anything two people got behind her and covered her head with a blag rag.

Ashina struggles to set herself free but is powerless.

All she saw was the darkness of the rag before she passed out.

They picked up Ashina on their shoulders and went away.
